Although we have been in Nepal during Monsoon season, which normally means many clouds and rainfalls, we managed to do the trip - after 12 days awaiting better weather conditions!

Buddhi, our organizer, checked carefully every few minutes, if a flight was possible and confirmed us to fly only by nice weather.

And it was really worth of it: We had an amazing experience!

First we flew with the helicopter to Lukla, then from there to the Sherpa village Dingboche. There we were separated from the other three co-travelers who flew with us, and we (a couple) got the chance to fly alone to Khala Patthar, where we could finally see Mount Everest, Nuptse, Changtse.

Afterwards we flew back to Dingboche and our co-travellers was brought to Khala Patthar/Everest. Then we flew back to Lukla for filling up the helicopter with kerosine, and then we had a nice Tibetan breakfast at a typical Sherpa accomodation.

We felt very safe during the flight. You could sense that the pilot, his name was Yachnit from Air Dynasty Heli Services has excellent flight skills and is very careful about everything!

Besides, he was very kind to take some pictures of us at Khala Patthar. Furthermore, he told us many interesting things about the mountain tourism during the flight.

Thank you deeply for an outstanding experience!
We would definitely recommend this trip - ask for Buddhi and Yachnit!

Unforgettable experience. The organiser, guides and drivers were super friendly and knowledgeable, all was organised well and ran really smoothly. My tour was cultural and my guides were willing to accommodate my preferences and be somewhat flexible with the schedule. I would definitely recommend Himalaya Holiday Service to anyone, even when travelling solo.

I usually don’t write reviews, but decided to make an exception here. I dealt with Rajan, and he was very professional and punctual, he answered all of my questions clearly and quickly before we arrived. We had to wait for the weather as we went during the Monsoon season, so the first morning the weather was not good enough, but the second day we managed to go. He picked us up at the hotel right on time and assisted us with clearing all the admin things at the airport (Kathmandu).

The helicopter was relatively new, and the pilot was very experienced with over 23,000 hours flying and has done many rescues in the area from Camp 2 during the main season. First flight was about 45 min to Lukla (2,860m), defueled, then another 15 min up to just above the base camp (Kalapatthar, 5,555m). The about 5-10 min to take photos, you can’t stay longer due to altitude, then down to Everest View Hotel for a nice breakfast with the views, spent about 45 min here. Then back to Lukla to refuel and then the flight back directly to Kathmandu (about 45 min).

The views were breathtaking all the way, especially at the top. From Kalapatthar you can see Everest and Lhotse as well as a number of other peaks. In fact, Kalapatthar landing spot is probably as good as it gets in terms of proximity to Everest. Expect to feel the effect of the altitude for the rest of the day.

We strongly recommend Rajan’s services to anyone interested. It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
