This was our first time in Nepal, and we are so happy we stayed at the Hotel Courtyard. Our friends recommended we stay there, and we are glad we followed their advice. The hotel is situated in the heart of Thamel, but the moment you cross the gates you forget the chaos outside. It is so peaceful and quiet, perfect place to chill and have a few beers with great company. From the moment they pick you up at the airport you know you are in good hands. The staff are amazing, and the owners are so friendly, make you feel welcome and right away you feel like you are part of the place. The hotel is beautiful, rooms are awesome. We stayed in the room 401 the first time, and when we came back after a few days in the jungle they upgraded us to the Honeymoon Suite, loved it. The owners Michelle and Pujan are amazing people, and they did an excellent job at organizing our stay, everything from the dining to Thamel House, visits in Kathmandu with driver, drive to Chitwan, Hotel and guide in Chitwan, flight back then flight to Everest, everything was amazing, one of our best trips. We loved our experience so much we are already planning to go back in a few months, and without hesitation we will stay at the Courtyard again!! We will also ask them to organize a treck to Everest base camp, and am sure they will do an excellent job at making sure we have the best adventure once more. Thank you also to Goupal our driver, dude you were great and you've got skills driving that big Mercedes in the little streets of Kathmandu, and Goupal our guide in the jungle in Chitwan, you awesome!! So thank you for an unforgetable experience, and we will see you again soon!

Room Tip: All the rooms are great!

The Hotel Courtyard is one of the best and most unique experiences I have ever had at a hotel. The owners, Pujan and Michelle, are great hosts. Their personal care of their guests makes the Courtyard feel like staying in a beautiful private home with a great staff looking after you.

The owners are warm, hospitable, attentive, and welcoming. They make you feel at home right away and take a personal interest in your comfort without intruding on your privacy. If you need help organizing your visit, the hotel staff will take care of tour arrangements in Nepal, sightseeing, day trips, and anything else you might need.

If you feel like talking to other guests in the evening, there is a lively social scene buzzing in the bar and library of the hotel, where you will meet a fascinating mix of travelers from all over Europe, North America, and Australia, from mountain climbers and photographers to writers and doctors. After a long day of sightseeing around the Kathmandu valley, the Courtyard is a great place to come home to, shower and dress for dinner, and go down to the library and order a drink from the bar and talk to the interesting cast of characters you are likely to find in the hotel on any evening.

If you want to stay at a unique hotel in Kathmandu with great, attentive owners and staff and an interesting group of guests, the Hotel Courtyard is the place for you.

Thank you, Pujan and Michelle, for a great experience in Nepal. I will be back!

Lovely stay, Michelle and Pujan made sure we felt like at home! Our two boys were very well taking in care of it and love their big screen room. Michelle arranged all our transportation from airport transfers, city tour and shopping tour. Hotel is located right in the heart Thamel, but quiet and with very roomy rooms. Can't wait to come back! Thank you Michelle and Pujan,
Claudia, David, Lucas and Marcus

The Hotel Courtyard in Kathmandu is a fun, welcoming hotel with incredibly friendly and helpful owners. My friends and I had a great time getting to know other guests from around the world. Michelle and Pujan could not have been more accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel when staying in Kathmandu.

Michelle and Pujan are what make this establishment great. They are kind, friendly and helpful beyond words and that is not to say the the hotel isn't absolutely wonderful.
On the edge of Thamel, we found an oasis. The rooms were large and clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Our room rate included breakfast in a very cute restaurant that included western style breakfast with eggs and omelettes cooked to your specification.
Michelle was great at making us feel welcome and sharing her knowledge of the local customs. Pujan booked our entire 10 day stay in Nepal which incuded local flights, trekking Annaprunna, day-hikes (lunch with locals), white-water rafting and a visit to Chitwan National Park, in about two hours. He has many friends in the tourism industry and they all treated us like family.
Great rooms; fantastic people!!

You are guaranteed a very warm welcome here. My room was large and clean, though always dark, try for a room not facing other rooms. Good vibe in the evenings in the bar area. Breakfast was adequate. Located right in the thick of things in noisey Thamel, but you walk through the hotel gates into a tranquil retreat. The outdoor seating area in the central courtyard was great for soacialising, but not somewhere you could sit and relax during the day - that was the only thing lacking.

I had two days to spare during my India trip so I decided on a quick visit to Katmandu. I learned about Hotel Courtyard on Trip Advisor (but of course!). Just like most of the other reviews, I loved it. The owners were very nice. The room was big and close, but not to close, to all the action! I had a blast, and if you have the time, take the Everest Trip in an airplane, very cool.

Room Tip: Great hotel
