We have just arrived home from nepal and would highly recommend staying at this hotel, the staff all go out of their way to help in any way possible. Breakfast is fantastic and the rooms are basic but very comfortable all that was needed for a 4 day trip was there.
The network system is very easy to use and you can get anywhere .I recommend that you have a pass of some sort to get about I was alone most of the time as Husband was there on business but I managed to get out and about by myself with no problems.
I will try to come back again with my friend.

Room Tip: Nice all room

A very beautiful hotel with very alert and responsive staff. The space for car parking, children play area, Good and nice garden spread out rooms makes the stay comfortable. The restaurant offers a good variety Food. The play area is adequately equipped making it a kids paradise. The hotel is close to the city and the famous hindu temple Pashupati nath.. A true value for money preposition with very tasty food.

Hotel Blue Horizon is a great budget place to stay in, for those who need more than a comfy bed and a clean bathroom. Rooms are very big and nice. Shared bathrooms are cleaned several times a day. Hotel is very quiet, so excellent sleep quality. Staff is polite and helpful. Hotel is located in a quiet part of town, with a Main city in Thamel 5 minutes of walking away. Only disadvantage is that some rooms don't have a A/C, I think they put A/C as soon as If possible.. But very nice room& bathrooms. In conclusion this hotel should be every budget traveler’s first choice in an otherwise Kathmandu city!

Room Tip: Nice and make more A/C room

I stayed in Hotel Blue Horizon on 23rd of Sep, 2011
The hotel is situated at the end of a long narrow muddy street. We had to walk half a mile through that mud every time we wanted to get out of the hotel and get a taxi.
The room was all through damp. The bed sheet had a urinal smell. When my wife asked the manager to change the bedsheet, he said it is only possible on the next morning. The tiolet was so small that it had no space in between the comode and basin that we could stand infront of the mirror to brush our teeth.
The room had a fake AC which didnot work, and the manager was not ready to fix it with an excuse that the weather was not hot. So I had to end up staying in a hot room even without a fan and paying for a Delux room.
In the evening when I asked for a towel, after 3 calls in the reception they provided me a torn towel.
And finally billing. During check-in they said I could pay in Nepali ruppies at a rate of 78/USD and insisted that I should pay while checking out. At the time of checking out they made me pay at a rate of 79 NR/USD as it was the new rate that day.
Wouldnt have bothered paying some extra if I could get some service. I just felt insulted infront of my wife for booking such a hotel.

The place is great to stay; the rooms are clean and staff is efficient. The location is also pretty inside and hence out of the noise and pollution of Thamel. But currently they are expanding and hence construction noise is there throughout the day.
One thing to note is not to book anything at the front desk since they charge a % commission (for ex. bungee or cab etc).

Room Tip: I would suggest the ones on the top floor facing outside (I think 502, 504)

Very good location, good Mountain View, Good food and garden, helpful people and friendly atmosphere. Our room was very big and very nice, but cheap. 24 hour hot shower depends on power aviability in Katmandu. Free and really fast Wi fi!!!! All over in hotel, and another thing they have very nice tour and trekking company. “Adventure Mountain Explore Treks” as official tour desk at the hotel who arranged my Trekking well and had not problem at all.
