I had visited this place 5 years ago when it was a full cafe and remembered that it was great. For now it's just a bakery but as delicious as I had remembered. The muffins are amazing and so is the sourdough bread. The owners are lovely people. Can't wait for the return of the cafe :)

You must try their choco lava minicakes! Or simply choose one of their cakes for every occassion, always fresh and made with love.

Although their bakery/home was destroyed in the earthquake, the owners are still serving muffins and mini lava cakes out of their make-shift bakery. They are incredibly nice and welcoming. Walk through the turquoise gate across from the "Natural History Museum" and into the hallway on your right; their kitchen is the first door on the right (seems intrusive at first but trust me, they're expecting you). Hike the 4,798,727 steps to monkey temple and then back down to carb up with some chocolatey exploding goodness!

This is a little gem in Sawayambhu. Used to be a really popular restaurant before the earthquake but was destroyed and they are trying to rebuild.
But the great news is the bakery is still operating from the kitchen of their home. Though it doesn't look open - Just go through the gate turn right into the house and the kitchen is in the right - they have the best muffins and chocolate lava cake to go!
The owner is really nice and friendly and she always has time for a chat. I just wish the restaurant could open again so I can taste some of the amazing food I have heard about.
