It is a 4 star hotel which locates in a peacefull green environment. It is 15-20 min far away with the cab. The Rooms were ''ok'' and clean. The breakfast was really delicious! Hotel Staff was so helpful and kind. They informed us about the weather and our flight back to India.

We stayed there for workshop for five days and was very good in general. Friendly people, reasonably good food although more or less the same. Rooms are good, specious, reasonable clean; tranquility all around so we slept well.

Nice swimming pool and nice garden around. convenient for workshops.

The hotel is in a very nice location – an oasis of tranquility. Once inside the property you leave behind all the sounds, dust and bustle of Kathmandu behind you. Yet you are not far from the city and the tourist hot spot of Thamel. In fact Thamel is just 6 km away. A taxi will charge you 500- 600 Rupees from the hotel. You get it on the street you should be able to bargain it down to about 400. Accommodation is in individual houses – very much like a small village in a wooded property. The ‘House’ we were in had 4 floors but no lift so not the best if you have knee problems. It was the newest of the houses and the rooms were clean and neat, although not plush. If you want to make your own tea/ coffee you would do well to take along tea, coffee etc. and a mug. There is facility for boiling water. It’s a short walk from the resident housing to the dining area and this is fine in good weather but cannot be pleasant when wet and cold.
The resort is at the base of a lovely mountain range. The view from my room was stunning. All rooms had small balconies. Facing our house was a row of smaller houses – resembling terraced houses with bay windows – each with 4 rooms. The food is not great, especially the breakfast. The Spa is average and is manned by one young guy but the cost is reasonable. The pool is small and tends to get really crowded on Saturdays with local day trippers. I found the wifi to be good and relatively cheap at 80 rupees for one hour.
In summary it is mid-range hotel with mid-range facilities but a lovely location.

In the13 years of coming to Nepal I have found big changes not only in the standard of accommodation but also the country. .
The country unfortunately is going down hill whilst the Hotel's are getting better.
Park Village Resort's are one of the best in my view.
The owners know what the tourist want and need.
BUT! I think people who come here have pre conceved ideas based of their own lifestyle's at home.
Nepal is still a third world country and should be viewd so. Most food that the tourist want and need has to be imported into the country via India and lot's of thing are still new to the Nepalis. When you walk into the Park Village Resourt you are in an Oaisis away from the outside hussle and bussle the same goes with the Kathmandu Guest House in Thamel.
People have to remember the Nepali staff have no perception as to how to deal with foreigners they have little english so if they seem to be surley it might be they dont undrestand what you are saying- they see us as rich foreigners and indeed to them we are by their standard's. Once you engage with them and ask questions you will find they are so friendly. Some will want to invite you to their homes which is and honour.
Remember Nepal only open it's borders to the west in the fifties and today they are still 50 years behind the rest of the world in most thing's.But they are getting there.
I would prefer that the west does not change the country but that has already happned and not to the better in something.

Room Tip: Because I stay 6 week's + I prefer to have an apartment which gives me the flexibility to do wha...

I was part of a large group (around 20) who stayed at this hotel for 6 weeks for a non-business training. Despite the obvious business that a large group of guests brings to a hotel, I found the hotel staff generally unaccommodating - not necessarily the lower-level staff but those with positions to make decisions.

I absolutely love Nepal and its culture, having spent several months there each time I've been there over the past 14 years. Unfortunately, I was generally disappointed by this hotel - not necessarily because it is a "bad" hotel but because it's more so a business hotel and, thus, drastically over-priced compared with the rest of Nepal and less accommodating.

If you are looking for an over-priced hotel for a business venue or if you require more "comfort", there aren't many options in Nepal. So, even if this hotel is not the coziest, it is amongst the best you will find. But, note that the rooms are teensy if shared and definitely not worth the price. What is worthwhile is the location . . . further from the pollution of Kathmandu . . . the pool . . . and the super kind housekeepers and dining staff.

On the other hand, if you're looking for a slice of Nepalese culture and/or have a lower budget, the options abound in and outside Kathmandu. Just make sure you sneak beyond Kathmandu into the mountains. Park Vision Inn en route for Nagarkot is an excellent place to start . . . .

And, visiting Makalu is a must in terms of treks . . . and Pashupatinath is a must in terms of temples.

Generally, my suggestion would be to enjoy Nepal and its culture as much as possible, but skip hotels like Park Village.

A very large group of us, from our company, stayed at the Park Village. It's a little way out of the city (6 km north of our office) but as it's out of town and near the mountains, it's also cleaner and less central -- so less pollution and more place to walk around. We stayed in the new wing, and our rooms were spacious and comfortable.

With the exception of bad breakfasts I can honestly say you get the best cappucino anywhere at their Illy Bar.

Spent 3 nights in Park VIllage and did not regret it.

Room Tip: We stayed in 916, a King bedroom, and despite the 7 minute walk from reception, proved to bea very...

I stayed in hotel for one night in Jan. Telephonic booking from India and airport pick up were hassle free. The property is huge and as the name suggests is like a village. They have many recreational facilities including cemented TT table. A group of 25-100 can enjoy better the whole resort. The much acclaimed Budha Nilkanth temple is three minutes walk and the lesser known ISCKON Hare Krishna temple is ten minutes walk from the hotel. Location may be contextual, those who want to relax will find it better than who come to hop around for meetings in main Kathmandu.

Room Tip: Look for Hill view cottages
