“Peaceful foothills of Kathmandu”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2012

I stayed in hotel for one night in Jan. Telephonic booking from India and airport pick up were hassle free. The property is huge and as the name suggests is like a village. They have many recreational facilities including cemented TT table. A group of 25-100 can enjoy better the whole resort. The much acclaimed Budha Nilkanth temple is three minutes walk and the lesser known ISCKON Hare Krishna temple is ten minutes walk from the hotel. Location may be contextual, those who want to relax will find it better than who come to hop around for meetings in main Kathmandu.

Room Tip: Look for Hill view cottages

Stayed for 5 days during a seminar.
Rooms are very much OK, both the newer and the older ones.
Food, there is only one word for it : outstanding.
The hotel went out of its way to help us with the seminar, organising a very nice drink outside around a bonfire, serving excellent barbecued chicken, mutton and fish (amongst other things).
Staff at the hotel extremely helpful in organising things and setting things up, organising transport to and from the airport, to town in the evenings etc etc.
Really outstanding, nothing to say.

This hotel is used by groups (hence my stay) I had a bad experience last time and this was no better. overall it is a poor hotel. Dinner is a buffet which was cold, dishes are often not replenished. Lights outside not working on way to bedrooms. The rooms are not good.

IT happened that I checked in when there were absolutely no guest in the hotel. It's a very large resort, its like a small jungle. Although the hotel was very lit up, evening walk can be quite scary, the manager said they have over 2000 trees. Anyways the manager was nice enough to invite me to his house for dinner. Two nights I was there was fun but I think this place is much better when there are mores guest around.

I was travelling with 2 little ones (2 yr old and 7 mnth old) so was looking for a place outside hustle of thamel but close enough, this place looked ideal as it had lots of space, beautiful gardens and a lovely pool. even though we enjoyed the space, but the rooms are really run down and small, the linen seemed really old and even faded and the staff are absolutely unfriendly and not helpful (we were hoping for an upgrade to the delux rooms or cottages by paying xtra) but they just wouldnt help out bcos we booked thru agoda! they also had no information regarding any nice areas....and the one suggestion they made was awful so we ended up spending lots on car rental and saw nothing! dont hire from hotel, best to find rentals urself from thamel...

plus most of the stuff advertised is not really available..we never got the 'free' shuttle to thamel, instead the taxis charged quite a lot since there are no options nearby..the 'free' massage is actually quite expensive and the 'free' internet means u buy the card and then can use it 'freely' in any part of the hotel.
Overall the grounds are lovely and my children loved it but make sure to book the delux rooms or cottages, they looked much nicer from the outside. ALso if u want a more lively environment then ur better off staying near thamel.

Room Tip: inquire about the deluc rooms, or cottages. the regular rooms are very run down.

I, my wife and a couple of our family friends visited this hotel in August 2011 recently and stayed for 3 days. We are not at all satisfied with the stay here and all of us felt very pained being there. We really did not have much of an option to shift to another hotel, else we would have shifted for sure.
The sad parts we felt were - food and the staff. Talking about food, the presentation and quality both were very poor e.g. chapattis were very hard, not chewable, the food was not properly covered and it did not seem hygienic at all. The worst part is that the hotel staff was totally not receptive to any guest requests. The rooms also had mosquitoes.
Though the atmosphere is nice, the surroundings beautiful but all in all the experience was not a really positive one.

The food is of excellent quality with a good variety all the waiters are super helpful. the best part is that its only a five min walk to the sleeping Vishnu Shrine . its very beautiful and the art work is quite unbelievable. better than many other more famous nepalese temples.

Outdoor swimming pool offers an awesome view of the mountains, and there is nothing like chillinng out after doing some trekking in the national park nearby. Not exactly the best nationalpark in nepal, but still its nice.

The place is out of the city, and the rooms arent the cleanest, so dont expect awesome luxury. just the basics. overall a nice place to chill.
