I stayed their in the month of December 12 with my family. This was very nice place to live within reasonable budget. This hotel is located in the heart of the city and thamel market is on walking distance. Rooms are large and very neat and clean with WiFI facility. Staffs were very cooperative. We get here home made food which is very rare at tourist place. Hotel had arranged airport pick and drop services at very reasonable rate. I had really enjoyed my vaccation here and will go again with my freinds and family.

Nice cheap and best and most decent and nominal rates for staying in kathmandu. some may get accomodation at same rate but overall rating of the guesthouse is excellent with neat rooms and very hospitable atmosphere. Very nice hospitality of team members(especially laxmanji and tarunji).

We stayed in Madhuban Guest House for 2 weeks in December based on all the great reviews we read here. We were both working in Kathmandu so we just wanted a place that was cheap and convenient for both of us.

When we first arrived after they picked us up at the airport(they were 1 hour late), they informed me that they would give us a deluxe room even though we paid for a standard(even though our booking was for a deluxe), the room was damp and dark, and rather tiny, particularly for a two week stay. When my partner arrived she asked if we could have a different room, which they begrudgingly gave us, and we had to prove to them that we had booked a deluxe room. The room was better, with a balcony as advertised for the deluxe room. They also at this time told us that breakfast was included(which we thought it wasn't) and they then proceeded to charge us for all the breakfasts we ate when we checked out.

When we first arrived we were using the hotel to book all our taxis, until we realised that it was much cheaper to just get a taxi on the street as presumably the hotel was taking a cut on all the taxi fares....then when we asked them to sort us transport to Nagarkot they quoted a very high rate and said they couldn't do it any lower, so we sorted it ourselves and paid much less and they were clearly very grumpy about it when we came back. I think that they thought they would be able to sell us lots of stuff while we were there, since we were there for a long time, but when they realised we weren't going to buy stuff from them, they just weren't friendly anymore....not all the staff actually, mostly from the guy who appears to be the manager.

And, when we did ask them for things, such as a new lightbulb in the bathroom, they didn't do it while we were away for 4 days and then we had to ask them repeatedly to do it....being winter, it's dark quite a lot of the time, so it obviously is pretty necessary to have some light in the bathroom.

As this was our first time in Nepal, I was certainly will to accept that maybe this was just the way all the places are, but after visiting lots of places in the Kathmandu Valley as well as travelling around the county I realised that no other place is quite like this one....every other place was very friendly and welcoming. When a friend was looking for a place close by, we advised her not to stay there and she found a place around the corner at Khangsar Guest House were the people were friendly and rooms were nicer, and the price was the same.

I can imagine this place is ok for a few nights, but there are loads of places which are much better and aren't always trying to rip you off....stay at them......

Room Tip: At least try and get one of the 'deluxe rooms' with a balcony.

Good guesthouse, quite clean and friendly staff. If you arrange it with them, they pick you up in the airport for free. It's pretty close and you will be grateful for its allocation, cause isn't exactly at the busy Thamel neighborhood but is well located from the Durbar Square and the main interesting points of the area.

The service is good and if you have any problem they try to fix it. The manager arranges you travels and other stuff, but in general, all the food that they serve and the tourist services, as well as the change rate is higher than normal. If you want to change money, go and search around Thamel for an exchange bureau.

We had dinner one day and it was average, but little bit expensive,

About cleaning stuff is pretty comfortable, but sometimes hot water wastes and you have to take a cold shower. They have wifii as well, and it works fine. The rooftop is cool to have some beers, and normally theres no one there (at least during november).

If you want to feel like home, stay here. Service is the best. Young and new generation of staff. In Kathmandu, hotel is just a place for sleep but service and facilities might come first. This place can offer you everything. Wifi, Computer, Hot Shower and also the good young chef. The Location is also perfect in Thamel, walk 10 mins to Dubar Square. Feel free to contact this hotel and you will be happy in Nepal

Travelling from India to Kathmandu it was like a breath of fresh air to be hosted by Tarun and his team. We arrived by an overnight bus, not having an idea where to get off, staff members got into the bus just after 4am at a stop and assisted us to get to the guest house. I couldn't believe the level of service!!!! The rooms were clean, the showers VERY hot. Internet was available and the breakfast was good!! The rooftop view from the guest house is also amazing. I cannot express enough how wonderful the hospitality was. Most recommendable!!!
