Booked for 4 nights, but when plans changed and wanted to stay 3 nights and use the extra night already paid for another night a few days later, they would not do it. Will not stay here again. Room was musty, and toilet did not flush adequately.

We recently returned from Kathmandu and spent a total of 6 nights there both before and after our Trekking adventure. The Hotel is centrally located to the Thamel tourist area. The Hotel staff are extremely courteous and helpful. The courtyard garden at the rear of the Hotel is very serene and relaxing. Great to see Wi Fi installed since our last visit 2 years ago. Showers were hot :) ( very much appreciated after our 18 day trek)
Our tour company Nepal Experienced Adventure Treks ( N.E.A.T) had their driving vehicles parked at International Guest House and this ensured that my husband and I along with our 18 other trekking friends had easy access to the airport and other sight seeing destinations in greater Kathmandu and other areas of Nepal.

This was our backup hotel in Kathmandu as our first choice was fully booked. The free airport pickup sounded appealing especially as it was our first trip to Nepal. The staff is very rigid and cold but the rooms are even colder. We hardly had hot water and the bed was uncomfortable with somewhat suspicious sheets and blankets. The room was damp, dusty and had a bad smell. Considering we splurged for a suite it is hard to imagine the facilities in the standard rooms. The only nice thing about the experience is the breakfast outside in the morning however the food itself was very basic and bland. The location was good in relation to Thamel but still quite which was a nice plus. Not recommended but still slightly better than other places in town in the same price range.

Stayed there with friends who had looked the address up over the internet.
What I really liked about this hotel:
The location, super close to Thamel (the noisy, overcrowded touristic district) but far enough to be a little quieter.
The decoration is magnificient: Huge black stone buddha statue at the entrance, typical nepali paintings (called tankas apparently), masks and wood carvings everywhere. Very beautiful.
The breakfast, good, and served in the garden wich is as well decorated as the rest of the hotel.
The free airport pick-up.
The roof-top view.
What I didn't like about the place: The room
An incredible contrast with the rest of the hotel: Very poorly lit, sad looking colors and furnitures and freezing cold. At the moment, temperatures are pretty cold, specially at night, in Kathmandu (as low as 2,2 °C at night minimum recorded, according to the local newspaper). Well the bathroom has no window, just a few small holes in the wall,(the size of the cup part of a tablespoon,) to let some light...and noise....and cold air in. And nothing to cover them up. And the water was barely warm most of the time.
The internet was working most of the time...but very slowly.
The only friendly staff around were the maids. The other staff, in direct contact with the customers were unsmiling at all time.
The manager was ok, but very pushy, trying to get you buy whatever trip he had to sell.

It actually felt like the opposite of the guest-houses we stayed in, were people were super nice and friendly but the decoration was less rich and a little clumsier.

The hotel is very nice, also the view is superbe but the staff is very unfriendly. The staff was not realy interessted to make the stay of their guest nice. Even the reaction when i left an complained about the unfriendlyness was not satisified - there was no reaction... just a little jerk with the shoulder

Free airport pick-up, friendly staff, AMAZING views of Kathmandu from the rooftop (the Rooftop is a MUST to visit if you're staying here). Delicious cooked breakfast included- always too much food. Free wi-fi for all you socialites out there. Excellent, clean bathroom with HOT water mmmmm. Was one of my favourite places to stay in Thamel!!

Stayed second time in this establishment, 2 years back in basic 20 dollar room and now a bit higher, deluxe double i think. Free airport pick up, good breakfast and super location. Both times had great help from the travel desk who arranged good economical tours. It's in Thamel 3-4 minutes from the center. Rooms clean, hot water, had balcony and nice view from the rooftop. Have to climb stairs since no elevator for rooms higher up, but that's no issue. We had left my son's water flask, when we were back in Kathmandu, stayed in another hotel, came back and got it from the reception. The manager came out and asked how the trip was that he had arranged for me in Chitwan, about hotel, food, transport. This was a very good gesture and genuine. Nepali hospitality at its best :)
