I am happy we stayed here when we first got to Nepal. The rooms were comfortable, great location and the manager helped us sort out our trip. We shopped around a bit for packages and brought him back the best price which he matched. Nice guy!

I picked Trekkers' home for a last-minute trip, solely based on the Tripadvisor reviews. I was not disappointed, as it fit my needs perfectly. It is in an excellent location in Thamel, my room was secure, and the staff was attentive and helpful. Most importantly, however, Dip's experience and connections, and eagerness to ensure I had a great experience as a first time visitor in Kathmandu, allowed me to put together an amazing 3 day itinerary! I wish Dip and his team much success in this new venture, as they are off to an excellent start.

Room Tip: I stayed in a room next to the restaurant kitchen, which was pretty noisy at certain times. It didn...

This hotel is run by Dip, a man who used to be running up mountains as a a guide and now running his own hotel, and with enormous enthusiasm to do a good job. The hotel was taken over two months ago and Dip is intending to modernise the rooms and make the 40 room hotel the best in town. We had a great stay and Dip also helped us with currency exchange, booking tours, information and getting to the airport when it was time to leave. There's a restaurant, spa and internet as well.

I stayed here Aug 1-3 with my nineteen year old son. We traveled here after a week in India. Originally we booked 2 nights ... we finally left after 4.
BEST THING - The Manager DEEP is hyper-focused on Customer Service ... whatever you need ... he booked our bus tickets to/from Pokhara, hotels in Pokhara and would have organized anything else we needed ... he is the best of the best ... I guarantee it!
SECOND BEST THING - WELL-Priced, CLEAN, GREAT LOCATION, & it has friendly staff.
THIS is exactly what you need when visiting India/Nepal ... THIS IS HOME AWAY FROM HOME!

Room Tip: Tell DEEP the Australian who lives in Portland, Oregon USA sent you!

As you'll read below, Trekkers'' Home offers amazing service and value for a surprisingly low cost. Many people also highlight the amazing hospitality and professionalism of the management. Everyone loves Trekkers' Home. In fact, the second comment we heard as we entered (the first was 'Nameste, Welcome') came from a fellow traveller who told us with a big emails, "This place is awesome." Though all of this is true, I just want to elaborate a bit on Dip, the General Manager/Owner, especially. This young man is truly remarkable. Rarely do we meet businessmen who respond well not just to happy circumstance and pleasantries, but also to adversity and vitriol. We witnessed Dip handle an unreasonable customer with care and respect and when we faced problems outside of his - or anyone's control - he quickly, gracefully and fairly found a solution that kept us happy and comfortable. For fear of belabouring the point, I'll just say that Dip first and only chooses to do what's right, and for that reason, Trekkers' Home is flourishing. Get there and meet him before he's running some Fortune 500 company. ;)

My stay at Trekker's Home was extremely pleasant as a result of the five-star service I received from the managers, Dip and Raj. They were unfailingly friendly, polite, interested and engaged, and highly hospitable. No request was too much. They work incredibly hard and this is evident in all aspects of the hotel. The room was excellent value for money, well-equipped, with wifi, hot water, a fan and balcony with mountain views on clear days. It was very clean and the cleaning staff are very dedicated and hard-working. All staff are friendly and helpful and it was a pleasure to stay there. Dip and Raj were so helpful to me as I had to return home due to a family emergency, organising a last-minute flight and even sending for a private driver to take me to the airport at no extra charge. I can only recommend Trekker's Home for a great stay with fantastic, empathetic managers and staff.

Me and two friends recently spent ten days in Kathmandu and couldn't have been happier with our choice of accommodation. Trekkers' home is comfortable and has a great location in the center of Thamel, within walking distance of most attractions in Kathmandu. But the best thing about it was the extremely friend and helpful staff, particularly the owner and manager, Dipendra (Dip, pronounced "Deep."). He never failed to go out of his way to make us feel at home, offering us a cup of tea and even helping us to book a couple of day trips outside the city. We asked to switch to a quieter room and he eagerly obliged our request. All in all, I would heartily recommend this place to anyone looking for a homey and comfortable spot in the center of Thamel in Kathmandu.
