This is a copy of what I entered online & also in writing (on the rear of their room feedback form) as feedback. Not surprisingly, I have not received any response to either!

I was not at all happy with my stay & expected a better experience - I am trying to forget the experience.

Check in - I was not asked if I wanted a smoking or non-smoking room, & am a non-smoker. I was allocated a smoking room & only found this out when I got to the room.

Room - On opening the main door, there was a bad smell which was there all the time of our stay - damp/mold/decay in the entrance way or a/c unit - fortunately did not permeate into the main room. I stepped in food (was remains of a cake) which was hidden under the valance sheet of the bed. The room was very dark, even with all the lights on & curtains open. The right hand bedside light did not work at all during stay. Is in severe need of renovation in some parts

Housekeeping - I requested 2 x hand towels from the Operator as Housekeeping did not respond when I dialed After 40 minutes, after my shower, they had not arrived so I called again (being redirected to the Operator) & finally 2 turned up while I was dressing to go out for the evening.

Breakfast - Was disappointed to find this was a smoking area. The food served was identical on both mornings of our stay. The hot 'western' dishes were bland. I appreciate the multi-cultural options provided, but 'buttered cabbage' for breakfast!?! Also - children running & playing sword fight games round the food & seating areas unsupervised - unsafe.

Overall - a very disappointing stay I generally stay at a far superior 4* when in KL & will not stay at this resort again especially as a single woman traveler - very unsafe and unprofessional

Not at all impressed - it was our third trip to this great resort, the first two trips being very good and amazing experiences, as it USED TO BE our best getaway from the UAE

This trip was really a let down in terms of everything, the resort has really taken a turn for the worst and the services and property are a run down affair. From being the most guest friendly hotel to being probably the most rude, we had bad experiences in all areas - mix up in reservations, waiting for 2 hours for the room, rodent in the room, 1hours for room service, laundry being lost, construction noise, monkeys running all over the roof ( thank god they did not attack us as with another guest ), this too as there is new owners and new gm
met with the new general manager, who tried to explain but the point was that they are selling really cheap to some groups ( as we found out in Hyatt ) and we paid USD 175 a night and could not get anywhere near a decent service that we were used to but it was weird that we needed a holiday from the 2 nights at gokarna forest resort and had to shift to the Hyatt for that, really misses the previous management we guess.

In Summary - Would not recommend this Resort and truly unhappy with what has happened to a truly magnificent place ie become a dump.

This property used to be for royalty and it is easily understood why. The staff is extremely helpful; they genuinely care for their guests. The monkees were a little bit of a nuisance, but just try to stay out of their way. The only drawback is that it is not within walking distance of anywhere else.

We stayed with another couple in this resort for one night. The rooms were lovely and the bathroom is huge. In the afternoon of our arrival, we had a round of golf - as hotel resident, you get a discount.

The food was average - we had buffet breakfast and buffet dinner with couple of dishes ala card. Especially the breakfast was of very average quality.

With all the surcharges, the room rate worked out to be 150 USD, which is very overprised for what is being offered.

We booked in for a few nights at the resort and were charged $145 per night - high season. It was a last minute direct booking. Anyone who has been to Nepal will know that this is not a cheap rate, however you pay for what you get. The room we were allocated was fabulous and as big as some rental holiday apartments we have stayed in. The bathroom was gigantic! One of the biggest bathrooms we have ever had. It was beautiful too. The bedroom had a safe, nice wardrobes and chests of drawers, lounge area and very comfortable bed and sky TV. Real luxury after the stifling, dusty, smoggy madness of Thamel. A real heavenly retreat. It is true that there is not much around the resort...well nothing really....but for us that was the whole point. Escape from noise, horn blowing and general chaos. The Resort itself was very tastefully and attractively decorated - very pleasing to the eye. There is a Thai restaurant next to the golf course which actually provided a very extensive menu of food. Yes the prices were probably double that of Thamel, but we had beautful views of the golf course with the monkeys sitting waiting patiently for someone to take a swing. The staff were courtious and friendly making it all an enjoyable experience. You can arrange for a driver to take you in and out of Thamel for around 600-800 rupees each way which is about the same rate as you would pay a taxi, but the resort car is much more comfortable and can handle more bags. The rate we paid included breakfast and the buffet laid out was very good. Hot and cold offerings and an omelette chef at hand to make a fluffy delight for you. Hmmm it was a very good buffet. There is an indoor swimming pool in the spa section of the resort. It is a good size pool in which a good amount of laps can be completed or simply float around. There is a pool bar which was not in operation at that time. The rate includes use of the pool and a hot tub - one each in the male changing area and one in the female area - along with sauna and steam room. The changing areas are well equipped with towels, hairdryers, showers, lockers, lounges to relax in and talcs and lotions. You can also book in for a massage if you fancy it. To top this there are monkies roaming around, which you must never feed but lend their own entertainment to the resort. All in all I would recommend this resort for a few days...anything longer may be too much....just for some peace and quiet and relaxation.

booked it via late rooms and at US 160 a night is a Rip Off, would not rate the place above a 3 star property and at the price charged a sheer let down. Moved to the Dwarika, paid the same amount and what a difference
This Resort is best around the $60 - 80 mark and anything above that is a no go as far as me, the manager Richard did try and explain about the resort but i would suggest he compare his product with Dwarika before justifying.

Our experience was very negative in this place and too we were travel agents, lets begin we were convinced & excited to go to the place in ITB Berlin, for Kiwis in the India - Nepal tours coming from Australasia due to the conversation & presentation and future business opportunities.
So we came to see the place for ourselves first for 3 Nights and also other properties and cultural & adventure places in Nepal, So, till landing into Kathmandu was fine and then began the road to this place was so bumpy, we hit our heads on the roof 2 times, wow - then the rates that we were promised at ITB were refused as he had left, so after a little debate we were checked in, but the room was not ready as the previous group had not checked out, delayed by 2 hours, then finally we were given a room and to our surprise it was very dirty to say the least, too tired so fell asleep, decided to have a meal in the room and a further delay of 1 hour for the food to arrive and then it was lousy food ( even had a tummy ache ), went around the property to some amazing nature, flora & fauna, booked a massage at the spa and wow, why no surprises - delay n noise and rub a dub would summarize the treatment. Came back and spoke with the new general manager, who seemed most unattentive and had just joined and seemed that even after his instructions and assurance we had a repeat cycle of the same things
Only saving grace was that Sarral the manager upon hearing our predicament had some impact and little better services happened and did refund a nights stay, but by that time we had decided to move to the Shangri La
A disaster stay would be a diplomatic way to describe it and really we would not stay let alone our clients.
