“Gokarna Heaven”
Reviewed January 10, 2012

I had a very good experience staying here as the facilities are first class and the staff are extremely friendly and efficient and the food is also excellent. The location is ideal as it is nice and quiet but also well placed for visiting Kathmandu and exploring the Valley as well as being convenient for the airport. I would not hesitate in recommending it to other travellers and look forward to my next visit.

Room Tip: Being surrounded by forest, the whole resort is quiet.

Stayed at the Gokarna for 3 nights at the beginning of our Nepal tour and for 1 night at the end of the trip. It is located approx. 20 mins from the airport and far away from the chaos of the city. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help with everything. Fantastic breakfast buffet is served daily and we were welcomed with a wonderful traditional Nepalese dinner, Daal Bhaat, on the first night of the tour. The rooms are very nice with huge bathrooms, refrigerator, safe, etc. Very nice spa, pool, grounds. The only thing to be watchful of are the monkeys which will try to enter the rooms if they find an open window or door. Nice gift shop with reasonable prices, free wifi in the bar (not 100% reliable, but neither is the electricity in Nepal).

Room Tip: Rooms facing the inner courtyard are very pleasant

This was a time share trade and it is the best trade we have ever made. The resort is very well maintained and the staff are very professional. The spa masseges were different from our normal masseges but very good and relaxing.
All the meals were prepared perfectly.
I highly recommend this resort and hope we can return for another week in the near future.

Room Tip: Our room had a queen size bed and a balcony. We had a tour of the honeymoon suite, for the price the...

Great stay in Gokarna, after Thamel, Kathmandu and some trekking we wanted some relaxation and luxury with christmas. Well that was great at Gokarna forest resort. Lovely rooms, very tastefull buffets, nice spa, with a little too cold swimmingpool and the staff was so friendly and helpfull. We had some problems with the wifi in the Bar which was almost impossible to work with and I didn't like the pillows on the bed, but it was nearly perfect!

With my friend we stayed two nights at Gokarna after visiting Kathmandu and a trekking. So we needed some relaxation. And this is a very good place to find that.
Outside of Kathmandu in the middle of a little forest with sounds of the birds and sometimes screaming of the monkeys. We were really glad with the room which was clean and huge and with a very nice interior. The staff is always willing to help. The food from the restaurant is very good. And it's nice to chill at the fireplace in the bar. A great spot to have lunch is ter terrace of the restaurant at the golf-course.The SPA is okay. The golf-course is well taken care of.
Two things that can have some attention is the watertemperature of the swimmingpool and some noise outside in the morning from a workingsite. But this should not hold you to stay in this wonderful resort.
Like another traveller said: One of the highlights of our trip and really something to visit. I will definitely stay again if I will visit Nepal in the future.

Very well located approx. 20 mins from the airport... Away from the bussle of the city..Staff are very friendly and would go out of your way to help.... i went there at a slightly busy time however Mr. Divas Shrestha in reservation really assisted with the bookings and airport transfers....
The Golf course is a lot of fun... and the forest walks are a must... nice and quite place to relax and play golf...Lots of monkeys have to be slightly careful when eating outdoors at the restaurants... but thats an experience too.. would definalty recommend it and its one of the places i would love to go again....

My husband and I stayed at Gokarna 3 times over October - November 2011. Each time, the experience was a pleasure. Our room was always spacious, beyond comfortable, and clean. The bathroom was AMAZING with a giant tub/shower and tons of hot water. Everyone on the staff was genuine and friendly. On one occasion, one of the porters stopped to check on me near the bar to make sure that I was able to use the free wi-fi and that I had the correct password. The front desk staff remembered us each time we returned. The restaurant staff members were friendly and attentive. The food was always terrific at the Durbar Restaurant. We also enjoyed a nature walk while on the property, and it was lots of fun. We enjoyed seeing the monkeys around the property. Overall, our experience at Gokarna was excellent and certainly a highlight of our trip through Nepal.

Room Tip: We stayed in 226, which has a fantastic bathroom. Rooms above the bar may get free wi-fi in the room...
