wow ! Thamel was incredibly great city. When we walked three minutes from.our hotel we reached the main street of Thamel and it has hundreds of great cafe , bars, clubs , shopping points etc. It was very easy to shop and all handycrafts and antiques are available. Mainly we shopped scarf and Cashmire shawl which were the best in quality.
what do you want? Fancy shawl, shoes, Poncho, jewellery bag, jacket, pants, local dresses and much more you can find in Thamel. In one word it is shopper's heaven. you need to bargain a lot. but you will find really good things within your reach. there are lots of restaurants and bars there. If you enjoy shopping, good food and want nice place to stay, Thamel is ideal for you.
This is my second time to stay in the Thamel area in the last 6 years and to be honest I don't think I'd stay anywhere else. It's a touristy area for sure but there are lots of shops, ATMS, bars and restaurants etc.... if there's something you need or want to do, you're in the right spot.
