We spent our first 3 nights in Katmandu, in other accom in Thamel which was terrible,we moved to the Eco Hotel what a pleasant surprise .A little oasis in the hustle and bustle. The garden is beautiful, the rooms are amazingly clean ,the staff are so friendly and helpful.Food and especially the buffet breakfast was perfect. The location is so central to all the fabulous eating spots..We were able to leave our baggage here while we went on a 14 day trek,on returning we were welcomed back, our bags promptly returned and we were given a spacious double room with the most comfortable queen size bed ,bath and endless hot water. We cannot fault the Eco Hotel

Hi Joey,

Thank you for much for your review. It is a very pleasant feeling we have when you describe about us and our hotel facilities especially hotel staffs, buffet breakfast and yes in the central thamel. Same as you we feel extremely delighted to know you have enjoyed your stay with us. We certainly look forward to see you again!

We stayed here for one night before our trek. The hotel didn't have the lovely atmosphere that others I stayed in had, however I couldn't fault the staff. Unfortunately our stay there was marred by some other guests staying nearby who partied too hard then one proceeded to be sick (it sounded like he was in our bathroom!) When I called the desk to see if there was another room available, one of the staff came to see us in our room, and although he couldn't help us, he was apologetic and polite. It's in a great position in the heart of the shops and cafes in Thamel.

My first visit in Nepal, staying with Kathmandu Eco Hotel, Thamel. The hotel provides you with basic amenities. I can say its a decent budget hotel, not much pomp and show but yes the good thing is it is in the heart of city, where most of the shopping can be done. The connectivity is good. The staff is great, very polite and co-operative and best part is food. If you are veg/non veg the variety is good I dont know about taste of non veg food but veg is great. Overall Satisfactory stay.

We were a group of four diverse travellers. However, we had our travel plans changed at last moment and found ourselves going to Nepal with very little information and virtually no planning. We did have a bit of a wish list but all we knew was there was a big mountain there. When we booked for our first three days with Eco Hotel,it was last moment and we already had booked an alternative hotel a few months earlier.
When we arrived we were taken under their protective wing. The Eco Hotel management introduced us to a company who booked other hotels in a variety of desired local, booked flights and set up guides for all our wish lists.
We covered a huge number of Nepal' "must sees" in a short amount of time. We would have never seen half of what we wanted if it hadn't been for ECO!
The owners looked after one of the group while the rest of us diverted to another part of Nepal. They took us in when we had to move out of our other hotel whilst we waited for our late departure time. They picked us up at the airport a few times (waited several hours for our flights) and took us to the airport when it was not their responsibility.
Nepal's Hospitality is spelled ECO Hotel! No where in my (131 flights) have I ever had this kind of superb treatment! Bless you, ECO!

Room Tip: Don't forget the roof top area!

Kathmandu Eco Hotel is located in the heart of vibrant Thamel, close to many different restaurants and shops. Upon our initial arrival, we were warmly greeted with a cup of tea after our complimentary airport pickup. Rooms are spacious, clean, and with hot showers available at any time. The breakfast buffet is delicious and the staff bends over backwards to make sure your stay is a pleasant one. Daily trips that are affordable can be booked directly through the hotel. Additionally, honest recommendations are provided to ensure you choose the best and most affordable excursions in Nepal. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!
