located in the heart of busy and noisy thamel, phat kath was suprisingly laid back and chilled, it also features a friendly and civilized atomosphere where your ears are not assaulted by the noise level, they have a good happy hour cocktail list for buy one get one free from 3-8 pm, the service was seamless and the foods were delightful (definitely coming back for those mountain steaks). Been here couple of times and best nights would be Wed, Fri and Sat.

I was there with friend and its nice place and can sit inder fruit tree, we had cheese sandwich and and it has nice bread, didnt like to that we had to stand up and had to go to see the board menu. I was tired and we sat down and again had to go to ther board menu for order and they shoud have print out menu with the price they have charge. Its not cheap place but with the food we had no complain as well.
very friendly and helpful staff!

Went a few times for lunch, and was really nice laidback place. Food was good, although there is no menu and it is all listed on a board inside the restaurant. Fairly priced with no VAT or service charge added. They also do shisha/hookah if that floats your boat. Lots of games that you can borrow and play like backgammon, jenga etc. It has a loungey atmosphere, so you can just kick back and read a book and let time pass you by. Nice place.

After reading online reviews here on TripAdvisor, I was keen to visit Phat Kath. A bit disappointed though; very small place, not enough space, too hot as the kitchen is right there heating up the small space. For such a small place, there should be a printed menu for customers, but instead, you have to go up the the open kitchen amongst the crowds to see the menu on the board then order- right next to the bathroom! Not the most amazing food I've had, and not the cheapest either. Apart from the music, I feel Phat Kath is overrated for food and drinks. If you have a large group, I wouldn't recommend this place.

I have been living in KTM for over a year now and its very hard to find good western food when you want it.. Phat Kath's has a great menu and a relaxed atmosphere set back off the main streets of Thamel .. They have a few board games and card decks to use plus a good selection on sisha and cocktails .. Try the Croque Madame if you get a chance ;O)
