We stayed at the Shambaling for 6 days, and had a great stay at the hotel, it didn't feel like a hotel, in the sense that it appeared to be one huge house with 3 floors. The suite room was very spacious, clean, quiet, ( you will hear dogs barking at night ) and facing the garden. As we were leaving the airport building , there was a Taxi Service desk, ( it probably costs a couple of dollars extra ) and from there, our driver had no problem finding the hotel.
For us, the location was great as it was close to the Boudhanath Stupa, and we really enjoyed our morning walks to the Stupa.
The staff were very helpful, the food at the restaurant was good, and overall, just a nice place to chill from the hustle an bustle of Kathmandu. Wi-fi, in the room was almost no existent, but in the lobby, or next to the stair case worked fine, but probably slower than what you are used to.More
