“Nice hotel and great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2014

Nirvana Garden Hotel is situated in the heart of Thamel District. It's a few meters away from the main road so expect a peaceful somber during night. The room is basic but comfy. The bathroom has a glass window that gives you a perfect view of the garden area. Me and my friend stayed most of the time at our room's balcony. It's so peaceful there. Overall, if you're looking for a peaceful area with very close proximity to Thamel District then stay at the Nirvana Garden Hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony and a nice view of the garden

I stayed here as part of an Intrepid trip. The rooms were a bit dark, but had a little balcony overlooking a large garden. The garden was a nice place to chill. There is a pond there, but... all the plants were covered in a thick layer of dust. I think Kathmandu is generally a very dusty city.
The attached restaurant called Samsara did great breakfasts. The hotel is located on the southern edge of Thamel, close to a very busy junction called Chhetrapati Chowk.

Room Tip: Get one overlooking the garden.

This hotel is very tired. It is adequately clean, but rather depressing. It is well located in Thamel. Breakfast buffet was pretty good and targets western tourists. Hotel is next to a new construction site so fair amount of noise including early in the am from nearby construction (this seems to be true throughout Thamel).

Have visited Nepal and Kathmandu several times and stayed at this hotel twice. Was very let down on this occasion. We stayed at the start of our trip for 2 nights having reserved in advance.Aside from not being picked up at the airport as promised.... On return from trekking they did not honour our reservation and when we arrived to check in we were told they were full. Looks like they favour large groups so will never trust them again hence the much less than average rating!
Average hotel for the money paid with a nice garden but certainly not the only garden in Kathmandu. Bathrooms could be cleaned better and showers improved. Breakfast was not good.

Stayed here at the beginning and end of our trekking / safari holiday. Well equipped, clean, en-suite rooms; wide variety of excellent, well priced food; lovely garden; helpful and friendly staff; great location.

I stayed to this hotel few months back during my last trekking trip. I must say, this place is worth staying. It offers a friendly environment and congenial reception. Service quality, food quality and room cleanliness is great. A place to stay and enjoy your holiday.

Room Tip: Select garden facing rooms.
