The hotel is nice and food is good. Tried Tibetan platter which was too much for one person to consume. Both restaurants, in the roof top and on the ground floor are good. Wifi connection is scratchy though!

The reviews on this hotel are very nice, and my wife and I were really looking forward to staying here. However, our airline changed our layover time and we requested for ONE LESS night 07/31/14 to 08/03/14 as opposed to the 30th. We were told that we would have to cancel and then we were offered a price that was nearly the same as our original 4 nights. So if you might be in this predicament, I would choose a hotel that honors the original agreed upon price.

Dear humblenodnarb,
We sincerely appreciate you taking time to share your feedback. We apologies for the quandary but if you look at the policies its clearly return that ‘’ In case of cancellation less than 48 hours prior to arrival or in case of no-show, one night-stay per room will be charged 100%’’ Also you could have simply rejected our proposal instead of agreeing on that. We have checked in our system and I hope you also had a second visit in our hotel. Definitely there must be some misunderstanding. Our hotel always tried to give more satisfaction and facility as we do for our own family and we will continue to do that in future as well.
I hope to present you the best possible service in the near future.

I stayed in this Hotel last year and was delighted with the service and hospitality of the staff and managers. They all spoke English and were very accommodating. The location was close to most places with lots of souvenir vendors near buy.
I left the quite a few postcards for the hotel to dispatch for me and was delighted that all were received by my friends.
The hotel is very rustic in appearance which blends in nicely with the area.

My first review of this hotel was tough, but since then I have been back many times and it just keeps getting better. They seem to be working hard. Aircon and pigeons still tend to drive me mad but the relatively new cafe upstairs is great, and I love the newer cafe on the ground floor for coffee and cake. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Friendly staff, rooms are spacious, breakfast spread was good and strategic location. Only set back is the tap water in the bathroom which gives a very rusty smell and is quite unbearable. Otherwise this is a good place to stay.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Tibet Kathmandu.

Super location and really special hotel. The reception area is so nice and the staff are very friendly and professional.

It's a haven inside the busy city. I loved the Yeti Bar on the rooftop too.

I would definitely recommend people to stay there and soak up the Nepalese/Tibetan culture.

Spent one night at Hotel Tibet on our way to Singapore and home after two weeks in Nepal. We stayed here because we wanted to be close to the World Heritage Site Bouda Stoupa. It's about a 15-20 minute taxi ride from the airport, and is far from bustling Thamel, the more famous tourist area.

Our room was large with a comfortable queen size bed. Flat screen tv, a/c, desk and chair. Bathroom is very nice with shower over tub, nice amenities, and good fixtures.

The hotel public spaces and rooms are nicely decorated to depict old Tibet. Despite being on a busy street, our room (which faced the back side of the hotel) was very quiet.

Walking to the Stoupa was easy, out the front door, turn right, cross the street, and follow the crowd to the Stoupa entrance. The Stoupa is worth a visit. Walk clockwise with the mix of Buddhists and visitors, along the prayer wheels and the colorful prayer flags waving in the breeze with the incredible blue sky and white stoup. Plenty of shopping opportunities.

Back to the hotel-we had room service dinner, and it was excellent. Good advice on the proper quantity to order for 2 of us (we were over ordering).

Not a cheap hotel. This is a four-five star hotel by Kathmandu standards, but it's worth the money.
