The hotel is officially known as World Heritage Hotel & Apartments and the building is called "Dwarika Chhen".
The red brick building is very old and is highlighted with ornamental wooden windows and doors. The whole place has a very special charm to it.
You can enjoy your meals in the indoors, courtyard or on the rooftop terrace.
Rooms are pleasant and spacious...rooms 1 and 2 have kitchenettes and small wardrobes. Please note these rooms are next to the street so may become a bit noisy in the mornings as the city wakes up.
It's situated right on the cusp of Durbar (palace) square so it's easy to pop out of the hotel and enjoy the surroundings...which is a bit less touristy than the Thamel area.
The owner and manger, Sagar was amazing and catered to our very need...airport pick up, tours in the city, day trips, etc. It was like having a private tour agency in house.
He and his wife even gave us a special going-away ceremony complete with flower necklace, Nepalese hat and blessings.
Highest recommendation for an authentic stay in Kathmandu.
