A beautiful and interesting place. But you can´t go into the main temple if you are not hindu but you have to pay more.

incredible place to visit this sacred place for all Nepalis and millions of foreigners who come to cremate the departed.
very peaceful and lots of prayers.
Revered and worshipped both by Hindus and Buddhists.

This is an amazing temple area. Though one cannot enter inside the actual temple, it really is amazing to see the cremations of the bodies. It gives a full new meaning of life..
Also, it is a unic temple in the world, a world heritage site and worth visiting.
To see the cremations can be somehow violent to some..more than anything for the smell of burning.

You pay a hefty entrance fee -R1000! to wander around the premises. There's only a couple of temples which are ok, but the main attraction seems to be watching the cremation ceremonies, which feels a bit bizarre, as families mourn their loved ones while tons of tourists watch and snap pictures, all sorrounded by cows... a bit strange...

It's a huge religious site for Sadhu's. Also, there are cremations every day. It's a bit weird. How would you feel if a bunch of Nepali's with big cameras came strolling through your funeral party? But it's fascinating, so you don't care after a while and shoot away.

The entrance fee seems to vary from 1,000 Rs to 0 Rs, depending on how you get in. One guy wanted 1,000. A few tourists ahead of us walked away not paying anything and we followed suit. The supposed ticket vendor then wanted 500 Rs at which point we just laughed.

You can stay there for hours, just sitting and watching.
