Intense experience unless, perhaps, you are a mortician. I would think carefully about taking children.

This is a very interesting visit. We saw 2 bodies being cremated and the families mourning. Did feel a bit of a voyeur but decided to go with the flow and enjoy the experience. Intrigued to see process of burning the body and to learn a littlevofvthe history of this temple. I would definitely recommend this to all visitors.

mixed feeling here. Didn't really enjoy watching the deceased being cremated but I guess these experiences are all part of travelling. Interesting, though. Lots of 'holy men' wandering around, who will let you have your picture taken with them if you pay. Not sure if they're really holy or not!

It was interesting to see, and I'm glad that we went, but the Temple was off limits unless you are HIndu, and let's face it.. the temple is why you go. Unless we missed something, you couldn't even see but a small portion of the actual temple.. the monkeys were interesting, but scary and I had several of them threaten me when I unwittingly got too close.

On the shore of the Bagmati river lies the temple of pashupathinath, a Hindu temple where every holy man in Asia should have visited. on tghe Gaths along this holy river the ritual burning of the dead takes place. Very impressive.
