We had only an hour between meetings, and it was the day of the living god, so crowded. But this was one of the most extraordinary places I have ever seen (and I have lived overseas for 35 years). It was a perfect day and bright, hot but fresh. The buildings are beautiful and grouped as they are, seemed powerful and instill assurance and peaceful authority. The public spaces led on from one to another with more and more remarkable sights. The variety of structures (some even classical) was deeply satisfying. It was really like something one had dreamed. The people were everywhere, colours and sounds, offering to guide or sell, but very friendly and polite. The mix of shops, cafes, religious shrines, open areas for traditional gathering, balloon and trinket sellers, was absolutely wonderful. I am planning my next trip with my wife and family. I recommend this place to everyone. It does you good.

Again expensive fees to get in here they even charged 10 dollars for foreigners but I still highly recommend the visit. It's a must see place when visiting Kathmandu and right a across the street is the best place to eat local food in kathmandu.....lunch for four was less than 10 dollars and fabouless..........

I got driven around in a rickshaw and to be honest when I did try and stop and get out to look round tens of people descended on me from beggars to traders and so I got back in the rickshaw and went somewhere else.
