Good decent hotel. Do try to stay at the main block instead of the side wing. The side wing rooms are smaller.
There are also power cuts often but the hotel has it's own power generator. Breakfast is buffet at the hotel and is decent. No complaints.
Location wise is very good as it is located within the Thamel area - very good for shopping for hiking gears. There is a good money changer located opposite, across the road that gives very good rates to me.

Nice rooms, simple and comfortable, HOT SHOWER ALL DAY! very nice lobby and kind staff. Beautiful view from the roof. Great location, 100 meter from one of Thamel's main squares, easy to find.
Wifi was not stable.
No elevator.

Room Tip: 4th floor are renovated with good view and more quiet - but there is no elevator. There is one room...

I slept 2 nights in this hotel. It was in the annex which is quite simple. Rooms are clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very good with a wide variety of choice. Hotel is in the more quite part of Thamel.

Room Tip: Wifi is free available but only in the hotel lobby.

Location is great for your Kathmandu stay; within the very pedestrian Thamel district. The hotel however is basic. Maybe a 2-star. Staff is helpful and in general the place is quasi clean. However, electric, like a good portion of Kathmandu is less than sporadic. The elevator was out of service which mandated a 5 floor trek. Hot water was also sporadic which made the bathrooms even less appealing than they would have been. In room heater didn't work and neither did the TV. There may or may not be an outlet in your room for charging purposes and if there is, it may or may not work. On the bright side, breakfast wasn't bad!

I found this hotel to be a reasonable price/value deal. It is located in Thamel, but not in a noisy area of this tourist hub, still at walking distance to anything in the area, restaurants, shops, travel agencies. Our room was fine, had everything and was well cleaned every day, the generator backed up all lights, though the air con did not have a back up (we inquired elsewhere and it is just the same everywhere, nobody use generators for the air con...or maybe the 5 stars hotels do). Service was ok, restaurant also had good food for reasonable price and the staff there was attentive and pleasing. They do have a massage center but we did not use it.

Stayed there for one night in 2012. It was not bad considering the price we paid. The receptionist was helpful in pointing us to the right directions. Porters were also okay. What I liked was their courtyard restaurant, which fresh options in the breakfast. Also, the location is quite good; you can easily get to all the key attractions in Thamel.

Stayed here before/after a tour. Many tours start from here. Staff is friendly except for some at front desk. AVOID 'standard' rooms in the annex and ask for a room overlooking their courtyard. Rooms in main building are much nicer w/ more comfy beds. Breakfast, courtyard, Illy cafe and rooftop view are the highlights. Lowlights: WiFi only in lobby, construction noises, and having to haggle for a better room.
