we found the staff here excellent, great location, good food too specially the breakfast, a little oasis in the hustle and bustle of Thamel.
Yes we agree could do with a little TLC.we stayed in one room the first time and then went back at the end of our trip, and would maybe visit next time too.

Staff were professional and check in process handled well. Hotel is dated and is in need of a major revamp. Rooms old fashioned. Staff aren't exactly friendly or welcoming. Location of hotel is good and a little quieter then other hotels in Thamel. Breakfast was satisfactory. A satisfactory choice for Thamel but not at the desk quoted rate

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Nice outdoor restaurant and separate bar. Provide a lovely breakfast with freshly cooked hot selections. Helpful staff at desk but couldn't find us when visitors called in. Power variable like most places in Nepal so wifi not always available. Hot showers. Centrally located in Thamel but reasonably quiet.

The location is excellent being right in the heart of Thamel with all the shops and restaurants right on its doorstep. Most things inside the hotel are functional: the rooms, the lobby, breakfast, the bathrooms. What isn't very functional is the wifi (forget it), the power supply (cuts off the lights, aircon and everything else electric). The desk staff are ok without being friendly. We were put up here by our trekking company immediately before and after our trip to the mountains so we weren't expecting anything superb and, in that, they didn't disappoint!
Our only real problem was an argument when we left as the hotel tried to charge us for replacing face cloths from the bathroom which they claimed were permanently stained when in fact they had been coloured by the hotel shampoo! An old trick apparently.

Room Tip: I'm not sure how you can manage to do this as we were booked in by a tour company. Suggest you see reviews by those that booked directly themselves.

TERRIBLE . was recommend to stay in this hotel by trailfinders as was meeting up with our trek group from intrepid . as we arrived was given a room which was relatively small which was not a problem but it was cold , damp , and smelt . bed sheets were damp there was damp on the walls . bathroom was appalling . we asked reception if they could move us into the main block or if we could pay any extra for a better room . the main block was full and they moved us into a slightly better room even though this was still damp . damp present on the walls . ended up with a chest infection which im sure was from this . it sure needs an upgrade . on the plus side it is in a good location , easy access for the computer . i have taken photos of this but waiting for reply from travel company

Room Tip: if you want to overpay thats fine .
