I've stayed at Dwarika's four times and it seems to get better each time. It's peaceful and beautiful. The staff and service are both excellent. Walking into Dwarika's from the streets of Kathmandu is like walking into a sanctuary of peace and tranquility.

THIS WAS ONE OF OUR FAVORITES DURING A 65 DAY TRIP THROUGH SOUTH ASIA. A beautiful room, personal service, good food a great lounge and a lovely pool combine to make this a hidden gem. It is alittle out of the way from the major sites but the overall experience will leave a great impression forever.

We were treated as friends by all staff. It was like entering a totally different world and the relaxing ambience was complemented by the stunning Newari architecture.

This was our first trip to Nepal and we stayed in Kathmandu for 1 night in the Dwariks Hotel. We chose this hotel as it was a UN Heritage site and to be honest, we expected more for the price we paid. Relative to the other hotels in Kathmandu, this is one of the most expensive. Don't expect much from the room it is very basic. Our room had two twin beds which could not be pushed together and were uncomfortable. The hotel architecture is beautiful. The food in the hotel (both room service and restaurant) is great by Nepal standards. Having already stayed there, we will most likely choose another hotel on our next trip to Kathmandu.

We were so pleased with our stay at the Dwarikas! The rooms are huge and beautifully furnished with antiques and modern beautiful bathrooms. Everything there feels traditional - the service, the happy hour, even the huge brass padlock on the doors with the skeleton key. The concierge was eager to help us with every little detail of our stay, they even managed to arrange a tour into the Kathmandu valley with two of us on a motorcycle following the other two in a van (crazy experience). It was so peaceful and beautiful, I would recommend it to anyone and feel it is worth the trip.

What can we say...we were upgraded to the Presidential Suite. This place is one of a kind...authentic and original. The woodwork should be in a museum. In fact the hotel is really a museum to Nepalese wood working. The exotic plants, the relaxed courtyard, the pursuit of service excellence and water elements are all heavenly. The restaurant is another story. We'd definitely go back and pay the full price for this suite....and it's not cheap!

Booked in with Dwarika's as a prelim to an Everest trek as a treat for our silver wedding.
The hotel on arrival was just as impressive as the journey from the airport was chaotic, the exterior was in top contrast to its surroundings.
We were greeted by a smartly uniformed doorman who smoothly welcomed us and opened the door into the hotel interior.
Once inside calm descended and we were away from the crazy traffic and surrounded by quality furnishings looking out over the hotel's courtyard. The welcome continued with cool drinks and towels.
Checkin was swift and we were allocated suite 103, (apparently the suite for special occasions). Superb room with comfy bed and authentic furniture to comply with the unique Nepali heritage the hotel is preserving. Sunken bath, great bathroom products, staff presented us with a cake for our anniversary, overwhelming.
There is some restoration work going on during the day, but this only adds to the stay as the architecture is beautiful.
All the staff we met were friendly and knowledgeable, smart in appearance and focused.
In summary, this hotel can't be faulted. A proper sanctuary away from the crowds with heritage thrown in for good measure.
We only stayed for two nights, so this review is short but when we go back to Kathmandu we will definitely be staying at Dwarika's. If you are going to Nepal, stay here.
