“AMAZING! Best hotel, no competition”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2014

I was here around 6-7 years ago and it was smashing. The entire place is constructed out of ancient wood and materials from Nepal's old heritage.

They have a library, amazing gardens with dahlias and so many flowers - rooftop and ground. The people are really very nice and friendly; one of them went with us when we wanted to go rock-climbing and climbed along with us for fun!

It was and most likely will be the best hotel I've ever stayed in and I come from a place filled with 5-star, 4-diamond hotels.

I stayed in the Dwarikas hotel at the beginning and end of a Mount Everest trek. The hotel is amazing. The staff can not do enough for you and the food is great.Every where is spotless and clean.A beautiful smell of lemon grass is always in the air.The rooms are amazing and mine had the biggest bed Ive ever seen.
All in all a fantastic hotel a nod experience.

Room Tip: The best rooms do not overlook the Main Street.

Travelling with small children, after being 'out and about' in Kathmandu during the day, it is wonderful to come home to Dwarika's at the end of the day. The staff are very family friendly, and the girls loved the experience as much as we did.

There are lots of dining options that start early for the kids, and the poolside BBQ was fantastic!

Room Tip: A friend told us to ask for an 'inner' room, as the street dogs can be quite noisy at night...

I have no words to express my enthusiasm !!!!!
Great hotel , perfect rooms , great garden and very helpful staff.
Marvellous traditional restaurant that all Katmadu's visitors should visit even if they do not stay in that hotel.
It's a piece of jewelry in Nepal. Wish i go again some day!!!!
RECOMMEND 1000%.

Our guide told us before we got to the hotel that Dwarikas was the best hotel in Nepal. Having travelled around the world and stayed in amazing resorts, we found it rather funny and really didn't expect anything out of this world.
How wrong were we! Once we last the small and rather dull entrance we were instantly amazed by what was in front of us. We were greeted by warm and smiling staff who made our 4 days/night stay a dream. The grounds are simple but full of history and culture. Every object seems to be at the right place. The deco is not as bling bling as most of the hotels we stayed at, it is rather simple and warm which was a much appreciated and welcomed change.
The staff never missed to greet us with a heart felt 'namaste' every time we passed by them and they did whatever they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

We stayed in the junior suite which was just amazing.

If there is one thing we could fault was the slow internet connection but hey, we really didn't care that much. Breakfast is also a little too 'average' compared to the sublime food offered in the hotels restaurants - try the Nepalese food, it's one of the best you will find in Kathmandu.

Icing in the cake, it's located only 5 minutes from the airport and you really can't hear the noisy streets from the room.

I stayed in Dwarika's hotel for two nights. Loved the atmosphere, amazing service and wonderful staff. My room was clean and spacious. The breakfast was great and the staff made sure I was taking care of.
I had an exceptional experience at the spa with Manoj. Manoj is one of the best masseuse that I ever had anywhere in the world. I highly recommend him for massage.
Also Mr. Shiraj in front office had a great personality, very people's person and went out of his way to assisting me. Dwarika's hotel is the best hotel in Kathmandu.

Room Tip: higher floor, facing the pool

From past reviews, I knew that a historic hotel like Dwarika's needed to be part of our cultural Nepali adventure, but I underestimated how much I would fall in love with the atmosphere and exceptional warm culture of the staff of the hotel! The pictures don't truly capture how much the hotel is a complete indoor and outdoor oasis of exceptional craftmanship and artwork, combined with amazing gardens and outdoor space, and topped with a warm, friendly staff that greet you multiple times per day with a peaceful namaste.

Our room was both unique and luxurious. The food in all the restaurants was exceptional. The hotel takes their mission seriously to create a full Nepali cultural experience...the spa offers exceptional massages...there was a local musician and dancer playing in the courtyard each evening before dinner...free yoga every morning...and Nepali movies set up in the library each evening. It felt like an artistic, culinary, and relaxing introduction to the magical world of Nepal all within the hotel.

I would recommend this hotel highly be part of your Kathmandu itinerary.
