I have just returned from a fantastic 4 day visit to Kathmandu and opted to stay in the Dwarika hotel thanks to the great reviews on trip advisor.
The hotel is in a good location for seeing the wonders of the city and is designed in traditional Nepali style. The rooms are large, clean and boast all the comforts you would expect from a 5* hotel. The grounds of the hotel are very nice, with a lovely swimming pool, hindu/budist shrines and plenty trees and plants to offer a nice escape from the hustle and bustle outside.
The service is good and the food fantastic - I tried the 12 course Nepalese meal - V.Nice!
Only one downside was a minor hickup with my pre-arranged airport pick up, as the hotel pick up did not show and I was left to get a taxi from the airport. They made up for this however with a free airport drop off.
All in all, I would very much promote this hotel as a great place to stay.
