This was a wonderful hotel. Built in traditional Khatmandu-style this hotel offered a haven of tranquility in busy Khatmandu. The large patio's surrounded by beautiful architecture gave us the feel of being in another world altogether. Beautiful plants and trees. Great staff and service, beautifully dressed in traditional Nepalese costumes. Great food. The breakfast buffet was excellent as well. The rooms are beautiful. I personally didn't like the swimmingpool location. There was only sun a couple of hours per day at the pool. During our stay construction work was done. This was noisy. We were not informed about this beforehand. That's a minus. Not even a note in the room explaining about the building. I would return to this location.

I saw a bad review about this hotel and it must have been a troll. While touring Kathmandu I drove past the other "5 star" hotels. They may check all the points to achieve that status, but Dwarika's is so much more. It is nothing short of a palace. The staff are exceptional and attentive. The rooms and building awesome. Ask for a triple shot latte for breakfast and every other morning they will anticipate you'll want another, or two. 5 star is a poor rating for this place ... it's "boutiique star" (compare to The Aubrey in Santiago, Chile). PS - If you are burnt out from the blare of Kathmandu then this is your sanctuary.

Ok, 2 criticisms: one day my boiled egg was over-cooked (OMG)!, and I believe premium places like this should provide free wifi.

We are very fussy and not easily impressed but we could not fault this hotel. The attention to detail is unbelievable. The decor ( see their website) is wonderful, the service great and the rooms wonderful. Try their BBQ on a Friday night and also their trandition 6,9 or 22 course Nepali restuarant you won't be disaapointed. Based on western prices this is worth every penny - based on Nepali prices it is expensive but worth every penny - they even offer free pick up and drop off at the airport. Book ahead because it is often fully booked.

in one word: perfect !! no complains about anything in the hotel except the authenticity of the Nepali cuisine. Better to have this cuisine at BhansaGhar - Kamaladi area.
Dwarika is really beuatiful, ancient with all modern facilities, fantastic taste of external and internal decorations in authentic Newari style. Biggestdeluxe room ever stayed in wrt other 4-5star hotels. Must not miss this when at Kathmandu. Even if you are staying in a different hotel this time, make sure you visit Dwarika for a sightseeing.
Pashupatinath Lord Shiva temple is walk distance. A casino, like most other 4-5 star hotels in Kathmandu, would have been good; but may be contradicting with authenticity of Nepal culture.

We stayed in the hotel for 1 night on the way to Bhutan. Lovely heritage place. Interior and exterior is wonderful. It was nice to step in to the quite hotel yard from noisy Kathmandu streets. Good service. Big rooms. There are 2 restaurants.
