Stayed in Hyatt for 5 nights and time just flew by. Mixture of romantic and at same time very child friendly. Great Italian restaurant must try their risottos and they have an adjoining bar downstairs with a nice lawn view. This hotel has heated pool with amused my kiddos very much. Best part is once your kids go to bed you can sneak into their casino...it's obviously not Vegas but it is great fun...worth a visit.

Stayed here for two nights. Requested early check-in and arrived the hotel about 10 am after flying for more than 24 hours. Had breakfast in the Regency Club and they brought me the room key before I finished, very happy to get early check-in, even happier that I was upgraded to a suite. The room had a great view of the pool area and Boudhanath Stupa. For me, the highlight of the hotel is the fact that it is on large piece of property with beautiful grounds, providing a true sanctuary from the absolute chaos of Kathmandu. My suite consisted of two rooms. The the living room had a couch, sitting chair, TV counsel, a nice sized work desk and chair. The bedroom had a king size bed and another TV. I found the bed too bit a bit hard, but still comfortable. The granite bathroom was nice with a soaking tub, large shower, walk in closet and toilet stall. Service at the hotel was very good, with English easily understood. The staff really tried to please. Had breakfast in the Cafe twice and dinner one evening. Thought the breakfast buffet was very good with made to order eggs and a good selection - the selection of fruits was somewhat limited. I enjoyed the trout for dinner and found the other foods to be good as well. I got in a workout and found the gym was well equipped with Life Fitness cardio and good selection of weights. I also used the steam room and whirlpool in the spa which was nice, but could use a bit of an update. The hotel is an older property, I would guess 10 - 15 years old. It is aging well, but could use a bit of a touch up. All in all a good stay in chaotic Kathmandu.

Room Tip: View of pool and stupa

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your feedback and we are pleased to know that you enjoyed your stay and the facilities offered as part of the Regency Club. As you have pointed out our hotel sits on 36 acres of landscaped gardens in the heart of Kathmandu city and it is in fact an oasis within the city. Furthermore we have noted your inputs about the fruit selection being limited and will definitely look into it.

Thank you for your suggestions regarding the property , we highly appreciate your constructive feedback and will place extra attention on the areas highlighted in your review.

We hope we have the pleasure of welcoming you back in near future. In the meantime, do visit us in Facebook for our latest updates.

Would get five stars should transportation be made easier for hosts.
Towels had a diferent smell that was not as pleasant as usual laudry perfume.
The casino is not maching the casino level and smoking is allowed.
The building and decoration is outstanding. Breakfast too expensive.

If you are a parent of a toddler who dare to travel to see the Himalayas due to your mountain-size love for the mountains, then this Hyatt is a good choice. Toddler-friendly facts: 1. a big pool with shallow kiddie pool 2. a trampoline 3. a large spacious garden 4. a mall with an indoor playground across the street (luckily we did not need to go there but available) 5. other daring parents with their little warriors - which the comradeship is nice to have in a city run by adult travelers. 6. babysitting for 1000 rs/hr with extra charge after 11pm. Everything else is average about this hotel. The breakfast buffet is pretty nice. Things to watch out for: 1. after reading the reviews on Tripvisor, I asked for the Stupa view room as well. However, unless you opt for the Club room - which we did not so I cannot comment on, a regular Stupa view room is only as high as 4th floor and you only see the roof of the Stupa. Also the windows were dirty with bird droppings so was not pleasant and not worth the extra money. 2. Asked for a wake up call and never got it - we could have missed our plane. 3. The foot massage at the spa was terrible - a precious hour to myself I will never get back.

Room Tip: After reading the reviews on Tripvisor, I asked for the Stupa view room as well. However, unless you...

Stayed here for total of three nights on my India Nepal trip with Rivera. Best hotel of the lot. True 5 star hotel in all Departments, room, food and service. The staff were exceptional nothing too much trouble. Great location, in walking distance to the Stupa and a short taxi ride from the Durba.
Recommend to anyone.

The short drive from the Kathmandu airport is chaotic at best but well rewarded by a peaceful arrival to a beautiful hotel that is surrounded by a park like setting. The property is walled in with guards at each entrance for a feeling of both safety and isolation. If you are wanting to mix it up with the locals, this isn't the place to stay. The club level is worth the small extra charge as it feels like a boutique hotel within a huge property. The concierge team on the club floor are very helpful and knowledgeable. Great location near the Stupa which is surrounded by wonderful shops and interesting character. Don't bother with the casino next door to the hotel - not worth it. Ask for a room with a view of the city and the Stupa.

Room Tip: Ask for room on upper floor with view of Stupa

We stayed at Hyatt Regency Kathmandu for 4 nights in april.
The location is very good, a big garden, quite, clean, the hotel, the lobby everything was clean.
It takes 10 mn to go to Bohdnhat.
The staff is very helpful and nice.
The only point why I don't put 4 dots is that we slept at 4 in a twin room (and I admit it's rare in 5 stars hotels in wich you can hardely sleep at 4 in a 50 m2 room, so good point for hyatt), but the beds are too small to make 2 people sleep (even us were too tighs so didn't sleep well and the girls were fighting in the other bed! lol) so we took an extra bed and after it was better. Also they have connecting rooms, but we couldn't afford 2 bedrooms...
The second thing was the food, wich doesn't worth the price... not very tasty for breakfast or diner in Rox.
But to finish with a good point, I really appreciate the late check out and access to the happy hour lounge, and the nice staff.
Thanks
