“Fantastic en every way!!!”
Reviewed January 4, 2012

I think this is one of my favourite hotels in the world. The reason is that, you can relax in a very sofisticated way without feeling overwhelmed with outrageous luxury and service. The scenario is fantastic, like an oasis in the middle of the Himalayas!
The buffet is pretty good because you can enjoy the taste of the food. I can say, it is an american buffet with an asian spice.
It is also very near from the Buddha Stupa, so you can walk down the valley and cross half the city without hearing any disturbing noice, only the mantras of OM MANI PADME HUM from this sacred place.

Room Tip: Choose a room with the pool view! It's fantastic!!!

Beautiful grounds and setting. Comfortable lounges and bars. Excellent buffet. Had best shave of my life by the in-house barber with straight razor. Water pressure in shower was outstanding, highly necessary after being shower-free for 2 weeks. A very very nice 2 day stay. A wonderful oasis of calm in chaotic Kathmandu.

The food and staff were good.
Need to man the reception little better, particularly during late evening hours!

Room Tip: Higher floors have better view.

This hotel was disappointing, to say the least. At $170 a night one would expect a lot more in a country like Nepal.
The rooms are dated. Furnishings are probably 15 years old.
The biggest letdown is the food. It is perplexing how a well-known brand like Hyatt can get it so wrong when it comes to food. Tried dinner twice, once at the cafe, once at the restaurant.
The first (Asian) dish was way too salty. The second dish was a pizza that was plain disgusting.
Well, if you even can’t get a pizza right…

Very beautiful property looks like a palace in total approx. 33 Acres area. Batt Bhattini, super market is just in front of the Hotel entrance where you can shop. This very close to airport peace and soothing area. The main Shopping street is far from this hotel.

My stay of 5 days in this hotel was fairly disappointing.

Reasons.

1) Different lightings in the room. The bed side lamps were of two different shades.

2) The furniture looks like decades old. absolutely non appealing.

3) There were COCKROACHES crawling in my bath tub. I have a video of it too. "im not lying"

4) Lots of trouble with keycard too..

but nonetheless : but the entrance of the hotel was super GRAND. The restaurants have amazing food. breakfast to die for. Feel good. They should reduce the prices if they have average rooms to offer.

Room Tip: Nothing specific
