“Great Staff Great hotel”

I've been here twice on business and have stayed over two months total. Each visit I was treated like royalty. The hotel is well run by a great management staff. Rooms are very comfortable, in hotel restaurants are fabulous, bar and pool second to none. Close to attractions and outside restaurants, this hotel is quiet, safe and friendly. Highly recommended.

The Hospitality of the Hotel was very Good. The rooms are well maintained, toiletries are all branded, good swimming pool, good food and very yummy breakfast. located in one of the posh area of Kathmandu where you get good restaurants/ food joints. Only thing didn't like is the casino. Not up to the mark.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the swimming pool and the lawn are the best.

I moved here after 2 days at the Hyatt Regency since my hosts had organised their residential conference at the Annapurna. The contrast was immediate.

First, it's a much older hotel, being one of the first 'luxury' hotels in Kathmandu, and its age shows - from the unimpressive lobby to the restaurants to the accommodation. The rooms are tiny. My room (2015) had twin beds and a desk but it was near impossible to use the desk because the chair couldn't be pulled out due to lack of space - you had to sit crab-fashion.

They have individual temperature control instruments in the room but they don't seem to affect the temperature at all, just the noise level. The bathrooms seem to have been ignored in any renovation efforts - cheap plastic toilet seats, temperamental showers and coarse, grey towels. My room had a view of the swimming pool, but part of this was obscured by old tin roofs. If you want scenery, look elsewhere.

The nice thing is that they seem to realise their limitations and the staff go out of their way to make it up with friendly, efficient and proactive service. The contrast with the Hyatt was also immediate.

There are several other plus points. The Annapurna is smack in the middle of Durbar Square, which is the heart of the city and which is where the more posh restaurants and shops are found. It's also a 5 minute walk to Thamel, the shopping area famous for being the hippie/back-packer hangout. Other tourist sights in Kathmandu are such as Patan and Pashupatinath are also in reasonable proximity.

I only had breakfast at the hotel and while this was pretty adequate, it was by no means comparable to the Hyatt in terms of choice and sheer spread. But what they served was perfectly cooked and presented.

The odd thing is that while I've given the Annapurna a lower rating than the Hyatt, on reflection I'd probably stay the Annapurna again if and when I went back to Kathmandu.

Truly helpful and courteous staff, pleasant environment, confortable rooms, marvellous and varied food, huge pool, delicious breakfast. Within short walking distance from all there is to see. Surrounded by a variety of excelente restaurants and with a casino/night club of taste within its perimeter. Excellent security, too.

On my regular travels to Kathmandu, I choose to stay at Annapurna. The rooms are clean and comfortable with all modern day amenities. The staff serve you with a smile, very pleasant and courteous. The management makes an effort to meet up with guests and take feedback, something I have only experienced here, in my many travels abroad.
The location of the hotel is in the very heart of the city and is a very happening place, walking distance from Thamel-the expeditioners hub. The swimming pool is great and the compound also has a casino. It has two good restaurants, a Chinese and an Indian flavor, enjoyed the kebabs at the Indian restaurant. The only drawback for me is the gym , its small for such a lovely hotel.

Great Hotel, which is centrally located. The renovated rooms are excellent with all the controls at your fingertips. The beds are very comfortable. The hotel staff carryout Arti at the mini temple dedicated to Goddess Annapurna, in the lobby, every evening. Great to see. Need to mention the front office/reception staff. Always a smile and very helpful, nothing is too much for them, even when it is late.

My partner and I stayed here for one night. Beds were awesomely comfortable. Pillows were like clouds. Shower was the hottest experienced in Nepal. 1st room had no hot water. Room had twin beds. Both rooms were pretty small, and not really what id call luxurious. 180 bucks for something id pay maybe 80 max for in australia. Wayyyy expensive for Nepal and India. Cheaper hotels around.
