“No. 1 Address in Kathmandu”
Reviewed May 15, 2012

I have reviewed this hotel before and want to confirm, after another stay last week, that it is still very good. Note to Trip Advisor, the hotel is now named simply "Hotel Annapurna". This trip, we were in Kathmandu for one week. We booked a business package which included wi-fi, breakfast and transfers to and from the airport. It is a great comfort to be collected in a luxury Annapurna mini bus. Booking was done directly with the hotel and cost €150 per night for two. This might seem expensive but the service and standards are excellent in a hotel in an ideal location. We used transport arranged through the doorman which was only a few rupees more than the regular taxis outside but in far more comfortable cars with friendly English speaking drivers. The hotel is within walking distance of all the main places around Thamel and just across the road from the Yak & Yeti. The latter hotel has superb gardens but the hotel itself is huge and soul less. The Annapurna is a hub of local activities and there were three weddings celebrated in a huge marquee whilst we were there. ALL HOTELS IN THE WORLD PLEASE NOTE: The guests arrived around 5.30pm to 6 pm and all noise from the functions finished by 10.pm to 10.30 pm. thereby causing no disturbances to hotel guests! In Ireland, you will simply lose a night's sleep when there is a wedding. Hotel Annapurna is situated near good shops and there is a very good pub/cafe/rooftop restaurant (Nando's? I think) just along the street on the right when leaving the hotel. It has a cake shop on the entrance level and is recommended!

Another time, we had a great time in Kathmandu, and also in hotel de L'Annapurna. All staff were very friendly and helpfull. Food excellent, rooms clean. We stayed in renovated deluxe room, and these are really good !!! Now also the garden is completely planted, the new pool is great ! Breakfast, served in the coffee shop is very good and a lot of choice. Now there is also show cocking for breakfast. As the hotel is centrally located, we would recommend it to everybody !!! Greetz from Belgium !

Hi, I landed in Tribhuvan International Airport without any preparation of Hotel booking. I went for the first time in Nepal all alone with. With no local currency, no USD, as i was in rush, so didnot got the time for doing the arrangements.

I was surprised by the way of Nepal peoples hospitality and courteous ness. At airport itself, there is Hotel Association branch, the branch manager first of all booked HOtel de l Annapurna. The rack rates available for the hotel single deluxe room was USD 180 but the association members offered me at 117 USD. First i doubted about quality of hotel as the rates offered to me was way too low...But when i reached the hotel. I was amazed.

The hotel was really beautiful. The smell of mud with moist rain drops in the valley of kathmandu..It was superbly awesome experience. The hotel staff were too polite, courteous and supportive. The rooms were well maintained. with lots of peace and comfort..At 118 USD, this was a great deal...

The city is beautiful, you should also go to the pilgrimage of Shree Pashupathi Nath. The temple is really good. The people are amazingly courteous, well mannered, and very helpful..

I will suggest and will again stay at Annapurna..It was a really wonderful experience.

Thanks.
Linilchandra

Room Tip: I stayed at Deluxe room..I have attached the photos..You are the best judge..The cost i paid was USD...

We stayed here for over a week as a family with small kids.
This hotel has a great location. The deluxe rooms are good, and worth upgrading from the standard rooms. Otherwise I found the hotel to be fairly average, particularly considering the price. Room was fine, wifi was not included in our rate, and was expensive.

Reception appeared well manned, however many of the reception staff were not very good. The duty managers however were competent. However room service food was good and other staff generally helpful.

I stayed for the new year eve for three nights, though for business and meetings. It is centrally located, excellent service and nicely decorated. There were theme parties for the new year and the hotel was full of visitors. The pool side is a lovely locale though in winters and without sun, I could not enjoy it. Restaurant serves multi cuisine and is really good. I found this a little more costly than the value of services, but nevertheless they fully match their tagline.
