We were staying at the Shangri-La hotel across the road for two nights either side of our Annapurna trek. Having enjoyed the Saigon Pho Vietnamese restaurant nearby we thought we'd also try Bhumi just down the road. First impressions were of a gloomy, slightly chilly place with no atmosphere but the staff were very pleasant and helpfully explained what some of the menu items were. As more people arrived and our food was served, the place seemed to "warm up" both in atmosphere and temperature. Definitely worth a visit if you don't want to venture into Thamel.
