I can only say wonderful things about this group of people working for this hotel. During the Nepali Elections on Nov 19 there were no taxis, no buses absolutely no traffic was allowed on the streets .... there was only one way for tourists to get to the airport and that was one bus, which stopped at a few of the 5 star hotels in Kathmandu. The Hotel Tibet International went out of their way to make sure that both me and my luggage made it to the bus going to the airport. I was very thankful that they were there for me during those times. I have stayed there four different times. They are such sweet people and I find no reason to go anywhere else when staying in Kathmandu.... great food as well.

We had a fantastic stay .The staff was extremely friendly and helpfull.
We had the hotel airport pick up what is very easy when you arrived for the first time in Kathmanu.
We could leave our extra luggage and our many souvenirs when we went trekking

The hotel is very good located. We had lunch on the nice roof terrace.
Highly recommended,

The Hotel Tibet was our home both before and after our Everest Base Camp trek. When we first arrived in hectic Kathmandu, we appreciated the "oasis of calm" that other reviewers talked about. The hotel is clean and quiet, and the staff are somehow both professional and friendly. The buffet breakfast is amazing, with more variety and healthy choices than we imagined we'd have. Even though it's not in Thamel, it's close to the big stupa plus the hotel staff will organize a taxi for you, and even negotiate the fare!

After our trek, we appreciated the hotel even more! We arranged a late check out and spent the entire day at the hotel, having hot showers, getting massages, eating, drinking and watching TV. It was the best place to land after 12 days of trekking, but even if you don't trek, we strongly recommend this hotel for any Kathmandu stay.

Upon arriving, I was greeted by the nicest staff with tea, and was personally escorted to my room. Dining was incredible, the rooms were clean and spacious, the view was magical, and just the whole aura of the Hotel blew my mind. I, like many foreigners who visit Nepal, got terribly sick and the hotel staff made sure I got the best care. They provided me with complimentary soup and hydration medicine and even visited me in my room to make sure I was ok. They treated me with above and beyond compassion. I will never forget their service and their helpful and friendly disposition. Special thanks to Sonam Tshering Sherpa, Rinchen Wangmo, Dolma lhadon, and Lhakpa sangmo for making my stay in Kathmandu so memorable. I will definitely return to Tibet International on my next visit to Kathmandu!!

My wife and I stayed here for eight nights as a base to explore the valley. We chose the hotel's airport pick up service as we arrived late at night to an unfamiliar city. The transfer was efficient and problem-free but expensive. We arrived at the start of the strike called by the Maoists during the election process so it turned out alright. Under normal circumstances a perfectly safe alternative is to approach the taxi counter and a get a ride in for a fraction of the hotel's cost. We arrived to a friendly welcome and an upgrade which is always nice! We had a suite on the fifth floor overlooking the courtyard. The room was spacious, quiet and very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and roomy without hot water problems. We found the staff to be unfailingly friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the common areas of the hotel and especially having breakfast with a great view of the stupa. Breakfast was varied and decent. We ate at the hotel lunch and dinner on a couple of occasions and found the food to be good. The location is great as it is not far from any of the major sights in Kathmandu by taxi or foot. We liked the Tibetan feel of the hotel and neighbourhood. Flowers and cookies were brought to our room during turn down service which was a nice touch. Overall, we had a great stay here away from the chaos of Thamel and would recommend staying in Bouda. We got a good rate through Expedia and found the rack rates very expensive so check the booking sites as well as the hotel's website. I hope you find this review helpful.

With its remarkable attention to detail and personalized service, this incredibly lovely hotel is a destination in and of itself in Kathmandu. The setting is fantastic, only minutes from the Bodhnath stupa. Filled with remarkable Tibetan antiques, the hotel overlooks the Kathmandu valley. Well appointed rooms, warm, friendly service, excellent food and of course great setting... I would strongly recommend the hotel to anyone planning a trip to Kathmandu. Don't miss a visit to the attached spa for a massage and breakfast on the terrace! A return visit is already on my mind.
