I don't think I've ever stayed at a hotel with better and more personable service than Tibet International.
This hotel in Boudha, just 300 meters from the famous stupa, has it all: Excellent atmospheric rooms, a rooftop terrace with a view of the city and the Himalayas, and some fantastic people that will go the extra mile for you. Not because they've been to some American or Swiss hotel school, but because they are genuinely warm and caring people. I fell in love with several of the receptionists and the Tibetan people as a whole while I was in Kathmandu ... but of course if you want a more generic and luxurious place, you should choose the soulless Hyatt Regency down the road ...
The Tibet International only has one problem: The internet connection is bad, and overall their rates are too high when you consider you're in Nepal, but I bet you almost anything that the people working there will make you forget that in a heartbeat.More
