A great place if you've not yet seen any traditional dancing. The food was good and came in several courses, all served on great big brass platters and goblets. The service was excellent. Beer was quite pricey though - but hats becoming more common now.

We had a wonderful night in this restaurant. It was great to see various kinds of dance in Nepal like Tibetan dance, Hindu dance, etc. The food is authentic Nepalese food. I like the yorgurt with watermelon best. If you would like to sample the nepalese cuisine and see naplese traditional dance and entertainment, it is recommended. It is a nice place where you can relax and have some Nepalese style entertainment at night. But it is not recommended to the people who prefer tranquil place to eat and the people who don't like Nepalese food.

Our group came here for our farewell dinner, which was included in our tour. Hence, I can't speak on the prices/ value, only the experience. We were greeted at the door with a tikka powder blessing on the forehead. Long tables with brass goblets and plates, King Arthur style, with a few small tables on the top level. Traditional Nepali dance/ song performances throughout dinner.

You start with complimentary rice wine and popped corn. The rice wine is STRONG. We were then served traditional Nepali dishes, including fried potatoes, mono, dhaal and wild boar. I was told the boar was tough as old leather. I on the other hand enjoyed my vegetarian dishes. A common vegetarian substitution in Nepal seems to be paneer.

For dessert, we were served a lemony tasting yogurt, which was good but not great.

This is a fun and clean place for a group or private dinner. It is only a 5-10 minute walk from Durbar Marg. I recommend it.

We were privileged to visit the Utsav restaurant on the Nepalese 2070 New Year's Eve, enjoying an authentic multi-course Nepalese menu with several great dancing performances by ethic groups. A wonderful experience.
