Even busier than Bodnath Stupa, the lookalike Yogis nearly fooled me, they ask for money having had their picture taken, the public toilets are a no go zone, they are a hole in the ground with no water to flush. the open-water raft burning burials are a site as well as the monkeys that roam free all over the site

This had history, location and atmosphere (spiritual and architectural) and was easy to get to with stunning views. It was a little hard climbing to the top, but well worth the effort, and the climb gave you time to look at different parts of the city on the way up.

If you go to Katmandu and don't visit this tempe , something is wrong with you!

There's a fee for the entrance, but it's well worth it, if you survive the crazy amount of stairs to the top, you'll be happy you've made it!

Amazing views, amazing statues, little temples, and crazy monkeys! Not to be missed!

This is a very big temple complex on a hill, in the hearth of Kathmandu. Ity, not far from Thamel (20 minutes by taxi, 45 if you walk). The entire complex is very interesting and full of things to see so take a half day. There are places restaurants too, but beware of monkey, they snatch any food they can!

It was good to have a guide when visiting Swayambhunath Temple. The views are beautiful, you can see Kathmandu from above. There were monkeys everywhere.
