This is one of the handful of Kathmandu sites that must be seen. Appropriately called the monkey temple, you will see ancient temples, a view of Kathmandu and the monkeys and eagles.

With more than 500 steps to reach the temple. It was a good practice for us before we started our trek to everest base camp. You also get a nice 360 degree view of Kathmandu valley

The temple is located at the top of a hill and offers an amazing view over the entire city of Katmandu. The entrance is 2OO rupees for tourists (under 2€) making it the least expensive of all the main temple in the city : others like Pashupatinath, Bodnath, Patan and Durbar square range from 500 up to 750 Nrs. I don't understand why because this site with its numerous temples, amazing architecture, breathtaking view, photo friendly monkeys everywhere and magnificent statues clearly is a site not to be missed. Make sure to walk down the stairs opposite the main entrance to discover the garden and the three different gigantic boudha statues at the bottom.

quaint, ornate, amazing and such an incredibly holy place. do not, under any circumstance, take any food out of your bag when walking up. You could otherwise be hounded by a gazillion aggressive monkeys!

This is worth a visit if you are in Kathmandu. Like it's nickname, there are numerous monkeys that run around the stupa. The hike up the stairs to the top is long, but there are nice views along the way.
