There's no doubt to call this temple as "Monkey Temple"... Really lots of lovely monkeys running & jumping around us. Just feel like they are our neighbour =D

Better go there before evening and catch the sunset. It is really very nice to overlook Kathmandu city with the sunset!

I hiked here from Thamel, which only took about 45 minutes. Easy to find, locals will point the way, its the giant hill on the edge of town so it is hard to miss. It is a lot of steps, but it really isn't that bad. The typical tourist wares are up there, along with the stupa, prayer wheels, temple, etc, but nothing you probably haven't already seen a million times in Kathmandu. It is a quick trip, so don't miss it.

It is a worthwhile effort to climb the steps and go thru the monkeys' toll. Not dangerous but do not bring any food at all. Once on the top the view of the Stupa is amazing. The best place to take pictures of the Buddha on a stupa.

Our family has been kind of templed out, but it is on a hill overlooking Kathmandu valley and had beautiful vistas. We liked watching the monkeys too.
