“Nanglo”
Reviewed July 26, 2012

I loved their traditional Nepali thali - well presented and tastes great! Their Western fare is also good but opt for the local delicacies please. Try and get a table right on the terrace, overlooking Darbar Marg. It can get really chilly at night, outdoors, so sit near the heating.
The food is affordable by tourist standards but not local standards - but definitely worth a visit

“Nanglo (Durbar Marg) has two sides - Nepali and Chinese...”
Reviewed July 21, 2012

Usually they give you their Nepali menu - ask for the Chinese one. The food is better although takes longer. Outside is crowded tables so not much for a private or even quiet conversation, but indoors is much nicer. And a bonus, the bakery downstairs at the Durbar Marg location is quite good.

“Go for evening Barbeque”
Reviewed June 4, 2012

It is located at Durbar Marg, Kathmandu's most famous address.
This is place is equally popular with locals as well as tourists. They have serve good variety of Nepalese as well as other foods.
You can opt for sitting arrangement on first floor or on ground floor. The place is clean and nice. Quality of food is reasonably fine. It is full during dinners so it is better to go early to grab a nice place. They have barbeque dishes for dinners and are very good & popular. If you are dinning here then you must try these. Other then these you can have Nepalese thali, which is simple and whole sum meal. Momom's are prepared and served only for dinner.
In short they serve more variety for dinner in comparison to lunch.
There is a bakery and pastry shop at the entrance. If you have sweet tooth or wanted to have something on the move then its the place for you.
Total experience is nice and welcoming.

“Nice terrace and tasty BBQ, but the rest not so good”
Reviewed June 4, 2012

The terrace overlooking Durbar Marg is a nice spot on cool nights, and I will go back there for a beer but not for dinner.

The BBQ chicken was good but the pieces very small (not enough for a meal). The duck was more bones than meat and way overcooked/burnt. The fish dish was hard as a rock and no flakes. The dishes weren't brougth at the same time. So we got a couple of pieces of bbq chicken and the rice and compliments 20 minutes offer.

In short, not recommended for dinner.

“16 years and still love this place”
Reviewed May 29, 2012

Nanglo feels like Homecoming. It is a pleasure to dine here and the varities available never get you bored. Sometimes eat as much as 10 times in a month to 6 times in a month and still love going back there....at times its extremely crowded in the evenings...yet the staff are extremely warm and never give u the feeling "we are watching so eat fast and leave fast"!! this is the best part about dining in Nanglos. However in particular the Chinese outlet in Durbar Marg may need some attention, staff seemss a bit disoriented and busy amongst themselves rather than looking into the orders of the guys who have walked in. (was there 2 weeks ago)....otherwise Nanglo is and always wil be my favourite place!
