We stayed at Asmita'a in june 2012 . It is very a good location in Thamel. The rooms are big, confortable, clean and it's posible to have the bathroom inside. They clean all every day. The family who works in Asmita's, are very friendly and welcoming, and all of this it's very important in Kathmandú. Asmita is a very good chef, and she cooks a lot of food tipical of Barcelona. The price is excellence and incluiding the breakfast.
And Dharma is a very good guide who you can trust for trek
This is the best bed and breaksfast that you can find.

Room Tip: sorry, there are'n swimming pool and fitness center

We stayed at Asmita Bed & Breakfast for roughly one week in May 2012 with three persons. The value for money you get there is just great. The room was spacious and the entire guest house including bath rooms is super-clean. It features a roof top garden which offers a beautiful and scenic view of Kathmandu. The stuff is very helpful (including pick-up service from the airport) and can also arrange trips to near by sights (we did a trip to Nagarkot to watch the sunrise and a visit to the old city of Bhaktapur). The guest house is located directly in Thamel, so you will find yourself in the middle of the action immediately. When returning to Kathmandu, I will definitely stay at this place again. Highly recommended!

Excellent Value. Very good location. Staff very helpful and friendly. Occasional noise from street level - that's not just this guest house - that applies to most accomodation in Thamel.

We stayed at Asmita's on two occasions during our trip to Nepal and highly recommend it as an affordable yet gorgeous accommodation in Thamel. The area can get quite busy but Asmita's is located in an alley in the not-so-crazy part of Thamel which makes it great, if like us, you want to escape after a whole day of sightseeing to a quiet place. Still you're not far from all the action and cheap restaurants. Both rooms we stayed in (Pugisacalm and Everest) were perfectly clean with adjoining bathrooms with hot shower. The Everest room has its bathroom across the hall on a terrace which is amusing and you get to bruh your teeth overlooking the rooftops of Kathmandu.
The owners are very helpful, we arranged our bus tickets to Pokhara through them and they even allowed us to keep one of our luggage at their place during our trek for free.
Overall, an amazing experience and we were really sad to leave for another hotel on our last night as Asmita's was already full booked when we made our reservation.

Room Tip: Everest is great, if you don't mind having the bathroom across the floor on a terrace (bring a...

This is my second time in Asmita B&B and I like to recommend again this small and family run B&B in Thamel area. All family is very kind and helping you in all that you need. As I said in my first review, rooms are very clean and the mattress very comfortable, we felt like at home; we were missing all when we were outside.
The terrace was full of flowers, Asmita is taking care every day and we enjoy staying there for reading and having a cup of tea (they do a very good tea). Also I like to recommend again the Spanish omelette, momo , pasta , fried rice and also the grilled meat ; all it's so delicious and with and really good prices and my daughter every day for breakfast was enjoying chapatti with omelette and she’s missing also at home now.
This time we went for a safari in Chitwan Park and we book also there, all was perfect and we enjoy a lot in Chitwan.
Thanks again Dharma, Asmita and all family, for taking care of us and for your hospitality during our stay, we never forget you. We love Nepal and sure we will come back again.

I've spent over a year in Kathmandu, staying in a whole lot of different guest houses and accommodation. This is easily the nicest and best-value guest house I've stayed in. The rooms are spotless and cleaned every day, the bathrooms are beautiful (no bucket flushes or broken toilet seats, either!), and there's always hot water. It's also much quieter at night than other locations in Thamel. The family is lovely.

Can't recommend Asmita's enough!

We stayed at Asmita several times during our travels in Nepal- coming back twice after our initial booking.

Dharma, Asmita and their family are lovely and welcoming always greeting us with a smile. We especially appreciated the hot water bottles kindly brought to our room on a particularly cold night as there is no heating (this was the case anywhere I've travelled in Nepal).

The rooms are spotless, bright and come with a tasty breakfast in the kitchen downstairs. We stayed in several rooms - the most quirky being the Everest room which has the bathroom on the roof terrace. While it was a bit cold at night, I loved the view of the mountains while brushing my teeth!

Overall we enjoyed our stays at Asmita's and would certainly go back.
