“don't miss it!”

Traveling with two girls (6 and 9) makes you feel very concerned about safety and cleanliness. We found both, and much more at Asmita B&B; it is not only spotless, safe, quiet and peaceful (which is nice in the very busy Thamel), but also, the Rai family really takes care of you, good food, dedicated attention... excellent!!
Special mention to the gorgeous rest you have in their clean beds with good matresses!

A friend and I stayed at Asmita B&B at the end of a three-week trip and were quite pleased with it. We splurged and booked a room with a private bathroom, which I believe cost us about $25. The hotel is located in Thamel, on a small but busy street full of shops and restaurants (it's about a block away from the Thamel House restaurant, which is fabulous!). The taxi had some difficulty finding it, but all it took was a couple of phone calls (and one of the staff hanging out of the window and waving to the driver) to straighten things out. The building is tall and narrow, as most buildings are in Kathmandu, which means you have to climb a lot of stairs to get to your room, but the views are lovely.

There was only one thing that was . . . a little inconvenient or not entirely ideal. The private bathroom is not en suite (the web site never said it was, I just assumed). Each bedroom has a name, and the private bathrooms have the same name as the room to which they are associated. This should work if everyone obeys the signs, but it doesn't always. On more than one occasion, the other tenants on our floor either were in the bathroom when one of us needed it, or tried to come in when one of us was using it. Not a huge deal in the grander scheme of things.

All in all, the Asmita B&B is fantastic. Quieter than most places in the Thamel area, beautifully run by a welcoming family, conveniently located in an interesting area, equipped with comfortable and clean rooms, and cheaper than any place this fantastic should be.

Room Tip: Request a room with a private bathroom.

Located in the heart of Thamel this 4 room B&B is a great place to start your day. Breakfast is included and the staff is great. The rooms were spotless, we stayed in the Everest room on the top floor which included a private bathroom and a nice outdoor patio that overlooked the city.

Asmita B&B has basic and clean rooms! Comfortable beds with clean bedsheets and towels. Rooms including breakfast and free wifi! No attached-in-room bathroom but has private bathroom with hot and cold water. Location just around the corner of Thamel street. Walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Asmita and her family were friendly and willing to help us with any informations. I will recommend to my friends.

The reviews I had read were great, and I wasn't disappointed! The booking was easy, and Dharma also organized a few days trekking for me at the end of my trip.
The house is very clean and tidy, breakfast is great, the rooms are spacious and safe, with plenty of hot water. A fan and lamps working on batteries are available in each room. the bed sheets are clean, and towels are available too.
This is for the technicality of it... For the rest, it was even better. I had 2 fantastic days trekking with Dharma who explained to me about the mountains, the plants and flowers, the temples... I also got sick, and Asmita immediately offered to make soup for me when I came back to Kathmandu. They were super flexible at all times. I was travelling on my own, and I felt safe and well taken care of: Thank you! :)

This was the best decision taken in our trip to Nepal. Asmita B & B is small B&B with cozy rooms, very clean and the best bed I've slept in all Nepal .We had a good breakfast with the price of the room and served with the familiarity that is always breathe in this place.
It’s a fantastic family and we did the trek to Poon Hill with Dharma, he knows all the mountains and we will never forget you and the long talks during the trek. Thanks for the hours past together in the mountains.
Oh! I don’t like to forget about the Asmita’s momo and Spanish omelet, it’s great! And after the trek in the beautiful mountains of Nepal when we arrived again to Asmita B&B, we feelt at home again.

Thanks for the wonderful days we spent at your B&B and during the trek with our son.

We recommend it 100%
