Owner description: The Garden of Dreams, a neo classical historical garden, is situated in the midst of Kathmandu city, Nepal. The Garden's design has much in common with formal European gardens: paved perimeter paths, punctuated by pavilions, trellises, and various planting areas, surrounded by a sunken flower garden with a large pond at its center. It is an architectural landscape that encourages the visitor to stroll around and discover the Garden's treasures from many different vantage points.

A respite from the noise and chaos of Thamel, albeit expensive at 200 NR. Take a book, find a shady corner--there are lots of them. The foliage aspect is a little disappointing, as there are expanses of turf that could be planted in flowers. Still, not a bad selection.

It's one of the place to hangout in Kathmandu . Good Ambiance and restaurants inside the garden . Garden charges NPR 100 as an entrance . It's just next to Thamel and reflects the Rana Regime architecture of Nepal .

I thought that it is large place according to the pictures, but it is very small area. I was little disappointed. If you are trying to find some quiet place go rather to Swayambhunath temple.

No visit to Kathmandu is complete with a visit to the beautiful Garden of Dreams, a lovely landscaped garden with shady nooks where one can sit and absorb the greenery while listening to the splash of water from the fountains. The restaurant serves a very good lunch which is best enjoyed if you can get a table on the verandah upstairs so that you can enjoy the view. My husband and I usually share a steak sandwich and salad. The food is not great, but more than okay, though the service is pretty slow. Waiting isn't a problem, however, because the place is so scenic. Definitely recommended.
