Owner description: The Garden of Dreams, a neo classical historical garden, is situated in the midst of Kathmandu city, Nepal. The Garden's design has much in common with formal European gardens: paved perimeter paths, punctuated by pavilions, trellises, and various planting areas, surrounded by a sunken flower garden with a large pond at its center. It is an architectural landscape that encourages the visitor to stroll around and discover the Garden's treasures from many different vantage points.

“A bit of tranquility in chaos”
Reviewed August 3, 2014

A good place to go for a bit of calm in the chaos of Kathmandu.
A nice place to sit and have some lunch or just a drink. Very cheap to get in.

“Bit of tranquility in bustling Kathmandu”
Reviewed August 3, 2014

If you want to place to lay on the lawn and chill out for a few hours this is the place. 200Rs entry but lovely gardens, plenty of seating and even free mats for you to lounge on. Nice place for a drink although be warned the prices here for food and drink are as high as you will find anywhere in Nepal.

“Semi-peaceful escape”
Reviewed July 31, 2014

The garden of dreams gives a nice quick escape from the hustle and bustle of thamel, all the architecture has been done up and they take care of the gardens. 200 rs entry (I think) nice place to chill out, even though you can still hear the muffled horns from cars. Only problem is that I don't think they are keen on you taking in food/drink with you and the little restaurant/cafes there are SUPER expensive + tax, so a glass of wine could come to almost 1000 rupees!!! If your on holiday, why not spoil yourself, but not realistic for locals and expats all the time to pay those kind of prices.
