Owner description: The Garden of Dreams, a neo classical historical garden, is situated in the midst of Kathmandu city, Nepal. The Garden's design has much in common with formal European gardens: paved perimeter paths, punctuated by pavilions, trellises, and various planting areas, surrounded by a sunken flower garden with a large pond at its center. It is an architectural landscape that encourages the visitor to stroll around and discover the Garden's treasures from many different vantage points.

“Serene and very beautiful”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

Quite an interesting place to be, especially because it’s in the neighbourhood of Thamel, which otherwise is very crowded place and full of shops, vendors and hustle and bustle of typical back-packer's hub.

The Garden of Dreams is serene with a pond in centre and four different monuments in four opposite sides. The sculptures are influenced by European garden and the ambience is spectacular. We visited there in late afternoon and stayed there till it was dark. The lighting placement was very creative and made it worth staying there till late.

Tip: You could carry light snacks; arrive in daylight and if possible stay until the place glows in light (interesting for night photography fanatics)

“A Peaceful and Quiet Oasis”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

This garden and beautifully trimmed lawns provides a peaceful and serene setting to spend a few hours at. There are yoga mats and pillows provided and many benches the allow you to relax and enjoy the views. It's a nice place to retreat to when you are constantly dealing with the smog, noise, and traffic of Katmandu. For 2000 rupees, it's a bargain. Yes, the restaurant is spendy for Nepal but certainly was delicious and the service was excellent! Suggestion: perhaps bring your own blanket/towel to sit on as the mats provided fill up fast.

“Beautiful Peace and Quiet from the craziness of Nepal”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

This is the only place to get away from the craziness of nepal's streets for some peace and quiet. It's a beautiful if small garden with an area for relaxation and lying down, complete with soft, yoga-type mats and headrests. 200 rupee entrance definitely worth it. The restaurant on the south side is a bit expensive but you can also get takeaway stuff on the opposite side, and actually the food in the restaurant is delicious.

“Sight?”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

Not worth the effort despite the hype. I expected more, but sadly disappointed. Can't say much more as it was less than a good garden.
