Apologies to the AGH since this review was way overdue. My friend and I spent three wonderful nights at this special hotel in September. This property is truely a gem in the heart of one of the world's great city. From the moment we stepped foot onto the property and when we left there was nothing but warm smiles and an eagerness to help from the wonderful staff. There was definetly a sense of warmth and home during our stay there. One of the highlight of our trip to Nepal was being invited to dinner with he owner. Emjoying a true authentic Nepalese meal over a few cocktails and sharing travel stories. That is the type of establishment this is. A place where they care about thier guest and where the owner works hand in hand with all the staff. I will stay at no other place when I am in Nepal. Truely a gem!

Thank You AGH!

Caring staff, clean rooms and a great location. We felt welcomed as soon as we arrived. Staff are extremely caring and go out of their way to be helpful and thoughtful. Prakesh sets the tone for his staff by being available whenever he is needed, even driving one of our party to the clinic when she were unwell. Caring Krishna thoughtfully provided hot water bottles and Nabin was happy to rearrange our accommodation. My recommendation, take the time to get to know the staff at Ambassador Garden Home and your stay in Kathmandu will be enhanced.

From the time you arrived, the staff will.come and greet you and will help you to carry ur luggage, and prepare for welcome drink.Every staff you meet they will greet you with Namaste and warm smile. The lobby is very cozy and clean.
The location is in a heart of Thamel...where shopping paradise.and alot of security or police arround there,so you can relax do shopping.
The room very unique(i like the door and the lock )super clean, cozy and well maintain.Hot water whole day and the most important is power supply for 24 hours! (as you know whole Kathmandu power supply will be cut off at night time).

The room.complete with one basket fresh fruits, two cans of fruit juice,2bottles mineral water and two big cans of BEER!! and its all FREE!
The room include breakfast and the breakfast is AWESOME!! It's fresh made when you order and came with tea/coffee plus pure FRESH orange juice.
And during the chat with the staff, he told us that all their food is freshly made and not marinated food. So if we want to order any foods, it will take a bit longer because they will cooked only when we order.
And on that morning, I'm not feeling well with VERY bad diarrhea that I think it's caused by Thamel road side cafe where we had our dinner the night before.
And from that morning we continue to have our lunch and dinner from hotel restaurant and dare not to eat outside food. What is REALLY amaze me is when we order for steamed rice, they cooked it freshly after we order and it's my MOST delicious steamed basmati rice I ever eat through out my whole trip in Nepal.
All the staff, may it owner, front desk, bell boy waiter to security never fail to greet and give us a warmest smile and help anytime you need.
im sure to come back again and will recommend to all.

Great check in process, with friendly staff. Nice complimentary fruit basket, arrival drink , water and beer in fridge and daily newspaper. Room was compact, clean and comfortable. The room suffers from some outside noise but this was not overbearing. Breakfast included in room rate ok, not exactly a healthy option, but you have the option to order and pay for other breakfast items. Hotel is well located in Thamel and the staff make this hotel a winner

Room Tip: Rooms higher up and facing off street

We stayed for one night on Dec 25, 2012. The location is great (in the center of Thamel). Rooms have character and they were clean. Breakfast is okay, do not expect much. Rates are on the higher end. We booked a superior at 85 euro/night. Overall a good choice!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the garden are quieter

AGH is undoubtably the best Address in Thamel !!

This lovely 18 room boutique hotel is tucked in the middle of the hustle bustle of crowded streets of the most happening part of Kathmandu - THAMEL

I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of food, service, staff & my overall experience is one which has certainly set new benchmarks for boutique properties of the kind.

The hotel arranged everything beautifully & I strongly recommend it to all those who insist on 'Value for Money'. It can't get better ...

Will most certainly return for another memorable stay ... Thank you Prakash & Naveen

Location is great as it is just five steps away from Thamel .
You have almost everything within walking distance from the hotel.

Rooms:-
1. Comfortable beds.
2. Great hot and cold shower
3. Clean room
4. Good Wifi but I think they switched off in the middle of the night

Okay breakfast so don't expect much.
Prices are on a slightly higher side if compared with others.

Tips:-
Get taxi services yourself.
You should be get about US$5 to US$8 ride to the airport after some negotiations with the taxi drivers.

Room Tip: Get windows facing the garden.
