Found the place from Lonely Planet intriguing review and it was so worth it. Went with 2 friends who trusted me and got top marks for little adventure. Great spicy chinese dishes and beer. Wrestling on the tv? People eating, drinking, coming and going and we had a big table and were well looked after.

This place is a gem!! Seriously cheap and delicious food, with portion sizes to be believed compared to their prices. We had all sorts of things, including the water buffalo, chicken noodle soup, stir fried cabbage, water spinach, fried rice... Everything was delicious and so fresh-tasting. I am hungry just thinking about it...

This place was recommended by Lonely Planet as "the real deal for Chinese food" because it did "wonderfully spicy Sichuanese food". Even with the location map on Lonely Planet, it was a bit of a mission to find this dingy little restaurant as it was hidden inside a little hotel. There was a small street sigh that said <- Chang Cheng Restaurant and it pointed to what looked like a travel agency which turned out to be a hotel with a travel agency desk and a restaurant. At first, the restaurant didn't look very promising because, as I've already mentioned, it was a dingy little restaurant. The menu was quite extensive and written in broken English but because it had no pictures, it was hard to imagine what the food would look like/choose from. The waitor spoke little English so asking for a recommendation was out of question. I ended up getting Noodles in Chicken Soup and the end result was that it was indeed wonderfully spicey and I enjoyed my meal. It only cost 120 rupees (US $1.50) too! I'd visit this restaurant again next time I'm in town and feel like having Chinese food.
