Description: 1905 Suites & Restaurant is in a heritage building recently re-opened after renovation & landscape work. Built in 1888 AD this property has been restored to its original past with added touch of minimalistic luxury. An architectural heritage conservation experience! We are located in the eastern side of the Palace Museum, carefully tugged away in the quiet yet prominent part of the downtown area & opens to the green views of the Narayan Chaur Park. Just few hundreds feet left from Nag Pokhari (sacred snake pond temple), 1905 has four spacious rooms which are already up for bookings. Within the garden is a glass dinning area giving an outdoor feeling with elegant trees and herb plants around. Our menu lets you choose from carefully selected cuisine with fresh himalayan herbs & spices, some from our own garden. We are open for breakfast lunch & dinner. Our other amenities are: Farmers Market every Saturday from 8-1 pm ( supports our local farmers) Himalayan Meditation Center (free meditation classes), Artist Ragini Upadhaya's (famous Nepali woman artist) beautiful paintings are for sale. 1905 is truly a destination !

I visited the 1905 with a friend, back in october 2005. We had a lot of fun at a party, talking with the manager, who also took us out some evening. We came back for dinner two days later and loved it. It was the priciest dinner in Nepal, but also the best. Very delicated. They had an american chef back then.

Peace and beautiful place, definitely a very romantic place but the service is quiet slow. Food is ok.

For me this restaurant is hidden gem of Kathmandu where every where is chaotic with cars, rickshaws and motorcycles.

It's tucked away in a small dirt alley in busy Kantipath street and you can barely hear anything here but the visiting crows. The ambience was colonial with indoor and outdoor area, different than other restaurants I visited in Kathmandu, very quite and relaxing

We didn't make reservation as it was over lunch time. We were greeted politely by the staff and showed us the outdoor area. There were three of us and each ordered different dish.

My Greek salas was tasty which followed by yummy Hoisin chicken dish. As dessert I ordered applepie which was nice but the dough was too hard.

The staff was polite however the service was a bit slow that afternoon.

The food is very good here, though the portions are a tad on the small side. The owner has tried her best to maintain the 100 year-old property, but as with Nepali institutions everywhere, the Maoists have made it mandatory for everyone to suffer bad or non existent service.

Excellent, haut cuisine food in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Good for a romantic dinner or for yourself to sip on a delicious dinner or lunch. When we were there there was a group of physically disabled children, it was very touching to see with how much fun they bring their songs and dance.
For Nepali standards it is quite expensive. I paid 1100 rupees for one dish, including a glass of good white wine and tip.
