We stayed at Shivapuri at the beginning and end of our trip to Nepal and it was wonderful on both occasions.
We were travelling with our 3 teenage children and so had booked Poinsettia cottage to ourselves. The view from the terrace was stunning - all of Kathmandu laid out below you, the food was delicious and we felt thoroughly spoiled. Our only disappointment was that flight delays meant that we had to lose a night from this bit of the holiday, as we would really have loved to stay longer!
Steve, Neeru and Priani - thank you for your lovely hospitality and the impromptu concert!

It's the third thime I go to Shivapuri Heights Cottage. Everytime the same warm welcoming so that I don't feel like going down to KTM.
The accomodation is a cocoon, comfortable, beautiful, with all the small details that make you feel the attention of the hosts.
The dinner was delicious (and I'm hard to please, as a professional cook), various and high quality. I enjoyed the breakfast on the terrace.
I live in KTM, and I love to see the town from up and far, in the calm and the beauty of the garden and cottages.
The owners are friendly and you really feel like at home (a better home than yours, even).
I highly recommend this heaven.

After the bustle of the city this is a fantastic place to stay. Really comfortable, great views, wonderful staff who can not do enough for you, and really good food. This is a really relaxing place to stay. You can enjoy a quiet drink, enjoy the fascinating collection of books or if you feel like being sociable you can talk to the interesting guests who are travellers and full of great tales.

Room Tip: We stayed in the main house which opened onto the main terrace but to be honest the other rooms were...

The other reviews really do say it all. Great location, staff, service, and food. Coffee lovers should definitely opt for the fresh pot of Himalayan coffee for breakfast. My only regret was not being able to extend my stay a few more days. A special thanks to JB for his attentiveness and hospitality.

I have been a regular guest here for years and it just keeps on getting better. This year I took my husband Dan Snow who also loved the place. Staff, food, service, ambiance all first rate. Plenty of history to learn about too if you happen to be a serious history fan like Dan. The history of the mighty Nepalese Gurkha never fails to amaze!! See you all again soon.

Room Tip: To be honest they are all great and Kmdu is tiring so you will sleep well whichever lovely room you...

Stayed here for meditation retreat and could not have been happier. The staff is very kind, considerate and the food is delicious. The property itself is very peaceful and the surrounding area gives you great access to Nepal life in a semi-rural environment. I would highly recommend it.

The only stressful moment at Shivapuri Heights Cottages is trying to find something original to write in the guestbook! All the superlatives have been used.
Fabulous, relaxing, home from home, wonderful view, superb food, welcoming hosts, lovely dogs, the entries repeat themselves and you can only agree.
We stayed for 4 nights, first in the lovely Poinsettia Cottage, and then one of the Main House rooms. Both were delightful, spotlessly clean, with large comfortable beds, piping hot showers, r full of art and books, and each with that wonderful view.
We enjoyed huge breakfasts on the terrace, lunch with the best french fries ever on our arrival and great dinners, including a homemade chocolate cake for dessert on my husband's birthday.
Steve and Neeru are welcoming, professional and go out of their way to make you feel relaxed and at home. Shivapuri Heights is the perfect place to escape from Kathmandu and recharge. We felt that we arrived as guests, left as friends and next year will be part of the family!
And don't even get me started about those adorable, gentle, friendly dogs .......
One thousand percent recommendation, do not hesitate, book now.
