We had to order our drinks 3 times to finally receive them. Our pizzas arrived well before the drinks, and we didn't have any utensils until I found some myself.

The pizza was good, but everything seemed quite overpriced. The automatic VAT and service charges just added insult to injury.

Being in Kathmandu during winter when electricity cuts go up to 18hrs/day, it means no heater inside homes. So we find ourselves warmed up inside Roadhouse Cafe in Pulchowk. Their big pizza coal oven and heaters and the way the interiors walls with the rustic mediterranean ambiance were designed all add to the cozy, warm feeling. That is why they are always full! We go for pizzas which can be customized to your topping preference (i think they have the best margherita pizza). They serve soup of the week which comes with dry bread sticks and salad. Also good are the fried chicken wings, although some pieces can be really tiny but the way it is marinated and fried keeps you ordering it again. We have tried their chicken wraps, burritos too. Not bad. Iced tea is best from Spring onwards. Children love their milkshakes. I like their special veg noodles. Variety of food choices, really. They serve wine to those who drink. Baskin and Robbins ice cream is available as well as yummy deserts. We tried the chocolate cake in Roadhouse Thamel and it is worth coming back to. It is spring now and we still frequent this place. The waiters are very friendly as well as the manager.

Also have a branch now at Boudhanath Stupa, Ate in there too and experience was the same in both branches. Good if slightly oily Pizza (it's not up to quality of Pizza Express here in Britain), but still was a nice and welcome change form the generally excellent spicy local food you can have elsewhere. Good Illy coffee too. Caters for Western Tourists and has prices to match. However the service was very slow. Good atmosphere though and very clean and hygienic.
Roccomended especially up at Boudha where the choice is more limited

Woodfired pizza, satziki and humus, spaghetti carbonara - Roadhouse boasts a variety of western foods (and a few local dishes) at reasonable prices. Service is excruciatingly slow, but restaurant is very clean and food is safe. Nice place to come for special occasions and quiet dinners. The lemon tart is not especially good, but the Dijon beef sandwich is excellent (and perhaps one of the few beef dishes available in Kathmandu).

The food was not very especially considering the prices. The wine was average. It is a typical restaurant where essentially only tourists come. Service is average, not very personal.
