This most be one of the new wonders of the world. It is impossible to describe the experience of walking around this enormous statue. Unlike Nepal -- the environment is spotlessly clean and ever detail of the building is made with a high degree of care and precision.

This place is must visit for everybody who comes to Thimphu . There are around 300 stairs which you took race to compete with others , joking u can go otherwise direct to top by your vehicle also. But taking stairs way is enjoying. Above you see the Buddha , Buddha welcomes you at this place . Buddha eyes are so attractive it’s magnet attracts you . Lot of statutes surrounding but Buddha always fascinate you . You can spend hours and hours here , peace and calmness surround this place . Better visit early morning . Go to trekking near forests adjoining this place . I miss Buddha from this place . Scenic beauty of Thimphu town you can please your eyes . Must visit place

Overlooking Thimpu is the biggest sitting Buddha in the world. My advice is to get there early before the hoardes of tourists get there. Its very imposing and impressive and well worth the trip up.

We visited in the early morning in fairly cloudy conditions but nevertheless we had a thoroughly enjoyable visit. The Buddha is the tallest sitting Buddha in the world at a little over 51 meters and set on a hill overlooking the Thimphu valley.
The statue is certainly very imposing and offers great photo opportunities. The interior of the monument houses over 100,000 Buddha statues which are well worth a visit on their own
The monument is expected to be completed within the next year or so and will then be super impressive but in the meantime it is still a significant building achievement

This is said to be the tallest sitting Buddha in the world. It is still under construction but very majestic and is visible from most parts of Thimphu.
